 I picked up the oztrail

Thu, 2013-08-22 13:36

I picked up the oztrail mitchell king single a couple of months ago. I researched a fair bit before I bought it & I couldn't find a bad word about it anywhere. 330gsm ripstop canvas, midge proof mesh, 6cm matress, internal pockets for storage of keys etc & lots of ventilation. I've only used it a few times but so far I'm very impressed with it. Paid $189 from Getaway in balcatta, great value.

been lookin for a swag. Saw the oztrail Mitchell king on sale a while ago online but seems to have finished. If anyone finds em for a good price (or another good swag) I'd be keen for the info.

Cheers

 Motackle mate. $199 +

Thu, 2013-08-22 17:47

Motackle mate. $199 + shipping. Beats the $300+ most other places want for them. I did see them on eBay for $164 but I didn't look to see if it looked legit. I'm suspicious of a lot of stuff on eBay.

I have an AOS and a OZ trail

Thu, 2013-08-22 17:55

I have an AOS and a OZ trail double. the I have had the AOS for about 10 years and its still in perfect condition. the OZ trail is slightly more comfortable but I think the canvas is a little thinner but still a good swag.

 +1 got the oztrail Mitchell.

+1 got the oztrail Mitchell. We bought a double last year off eBay. Cheap and good quality, and the wife, who never wanted to go camping in the first place, wants to set it up in the lounge room she loves it that much haha

Another vote for Ozrail

Another vote for Ozrail Mitchell King Single!!!

but I think Kulkyne Campers is doing them now that have the bar that runs between the head loop and the foot loop, so you dont need pegs to hold it up in the tent formation...  very handy!

Only used mine a couple of times though, as I find myself going for the tentcot a lot more!!! Very comfy, and youre up off the ground so you dont feel the bumps etc, and dont need to be on flat ground to get a good sleep!!

Only prob is they are quite large folded up, but it is flat..

You can make any framed dome

Fri, 2013-08-23 11:16

You can make any framed dome swag free standing. All you need is a tent pole of suitable length & 2 x ring & pin sets. Ring & pin goes on the frame at either end of the swag & gets held in place by a couple of ties or velcro loops then the tent pole goes in between them. Costs less then $20 even if you have to buy all the bits to do it.
