swan river tailor

hi guys, went for a troll in the river yesterday with my two boys Dylan and Jesse (4 and 10 yrs) and as couple of mates and the tailor are absolutely everywhere from the narrows to fremantle we caught and released at least 50 tailor on scorpion 35"s and  little 40mm stickbaits with most of the fish on patches of bait out in melville water, all in all a ggod day with my 4 yr old son Jesse catching his first tailor and following up with about 20 more!! all fish on the 4lb bream outfits, we had several triple hookups and a couple of quadruples  all the tailor were between 28 and 40cm.so if your looking for a bit of fun in the river with the family thats nice and easy i highly recommend it at the moment.   cheers

Sounds like fun Ryan. So out in the main section of Melville water? Time of day? Good first spring run for the boat.

Swan Tailor

Was out there too with the young fella.  Non stop hits on the lures!  I was just trolling along the channel Perth side of Point Walter.  Prob caught and released about 20 in 1.5 hours.  Kept 3 for dinner.  Most legal size.  Mainly using the good old small size smilin Jack.  Good to see so many around.

Took the young fella out

Sun, 2011-11-20 20:16

Took the young fella out today and he had his first Tailor in a bout a minute of the lure being in the water. We were using metal slices which were getting hit constantly. All was good until some clown drove over ourback wash where the lures were and cut them both off F$^$^$ing retard was waving at me thinking I was waving hello. Anyway kept a few of the bigger ones for tea and released the rest. Top day!

Where about?

Sun, 2011-11-20 20:33

Well done! Sound like allot of fun with the little ones!

Guys, I'm not very familiar with the river boating; which is the best place to launch the boat from to have such a session with my boys?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Hey Mela. Dropped it in at South Perth and then cruised down past the Narrows into the open water.
