Swimming with a whaleshark at Coral Bay

Hi all

I've put together this clip of our time swimming with a whaleshark while we were in Coral Bay last week. As mentioned previously, this one was inside the reef so it made it easier to swim with and film...hope you enjoy it.

Hi snappermiles

If you get a chance to swim with these guys, you have to do it...I know it's a bit pricey but well worth the money, especially if they find one early on in the day, rather than being on the boat all day before they find one to swim with. We were on this one before lunch, so that wasn't too bad.

We didn't see any cobia under the whaleshark but there were a couple of small fish, possibly ramora. If they were cobia, they were only real small ones.

We did have an encounter with a couple of big cobia that were swimming with a tiger shark that was circling our boat last week...hooked one of the cobia but lost it at the boat....it was approx. 1.5m long.

My daughter and her boyfriend swam with a whaleshark at Exmouth 2 weeks ago and this big fella had lures and fishing line hanging from his sides....apparently, fishermen had been tossing lures around him trying to catch the accompanying cobia!
