For the land of the Land Based Fisho..!
With the recent good numbers of pelagics around and good fish been spotted close too shore i figured it wouldnt be long till something turned up...
Stats: 134cm and 14kg
Caught: 4.13pm sunday 6 march
Setup: Daiwa saltiga matched with a daiwa sensor using 20 pound braid
Method: Ballooning
Bait: Live scaly mack

If that is the Ammo jetty then well done mate. I've heard of Shark Mackeral coming from there in the past but with the warm waters at the moment, a Spaniard was only a matter of time.

Thats just plain awesome and 2 dream off. Must have caused a stirr on the jetty when it went off.
Now I am waiting with baited breath for a Metro Coral trout, or even better boys and girls, start blasting the reefs near Rotto with Poppers and stickies and wait for the GT to pounce.

Well, theres certainly a fair few of them at the Abrolhos, so its not all that far for them to travel. Same with the redthroats and they're occasionally caught here. GT's might require a bit more warming (i.e. time...)
