Decided to go for a balloon on the strong southerly got down there early to beat the crowds. 2 mullet were about 250m out under balloons by 6:30ish. Around 7 I noticed alot of slack line on the overhead, after winding in around 50m of slack the fight began. A long sluggish fight of around 45 minutes ended with this beauty. Close to 7 foot and a guesstimate 50-60kg. It just shows you put the hours in and eventually it will go your way. Stoked to say the least :)

Nice Luke
45min fighting that brute would have stretched the arms a bit. Well done.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

I went out for a bash last
I went out for a bash last night. 3 big runs including one that smashed a live tailor 100m out as i was setting it. Whatever it was, was big.

Great looking catch
Did you keep it or release it. If released how did it go on the release swim of strongly or just sort of float away after the 45 min fight.
I'm always amazed at how these things recover so quickly after giving their all in a fight.

We let it go and it went off
We let it go and it went off great after 5 or so minutes of soaking it all in, I walked it out into knee deep water and watched it swim away healthy as. Definitely need to get a harness for next time, the arms are still bruised
