Trim tabs???

 Hey guys,

im looking at buying some trim tabs for my plate boat. It’s about 6.3m of hull and about 7.3-4mloa

because it’s a hard top has another more weight up top and when the wind hits it, it tends to list pretty well like you would suspect. Either lenco or Bennett are on the cards but curious if anyone has had any issues with the hydraulic motor on the Bennett’s ?  I’m swaying toward lenco because it’s an electrical system and I would think be a lot more responsive. I have seen the kits for a 12”x12” kits for around 800 dollars and I’ll just install myself. To me that seems abit cheap though.

Love some feedback if anyone has eother the lenco or Benny’s or any others.

Thanks for your help :)

Good read.

My opinion is all heavy equipment is operated by hydraulics not elec.
Bennett have been around for years .

Bennetts M120 Kit with the EIC.

If it was me I would be getting Willie to weld an additional plate to the hull similar to your transducer mounts so you not screwing into the hull.

Lenco

I've got the Lenco 12x9's (or 12 x 12 can't remember) on my 7m glass boat. It makes such a big difference to be able to have the hull meet the chop/sea upright instead of on one side or the other. Lenco and Bennett are both pretty popular in the states so you can't go too far wrong with either. Keep an eye on some of the cheaper kits for the Lenco's as it doesn't include a controller for those that want to go with an auto levelling controller.

If you're rich and can go for the intercepter type like the ZipWake's then they are all the rage but haven't had as many years in the field testing like the others.

I've had both bennets & Lencos & prefer the lencos. Bit more responsive & less to go wrong and service.

Sorry about the dumb question, but what is loa? Only reason I ask is have been looking at hulls and noticed they all seem to measure differently!  Also wanting trim tabs.

Thanks mate! Thought so but figured I’d check lol! Some boats I was looking at must have been stating the loa, but actually ended up smaller in comparison.

Trim tabs will make an enormous difference to your ride.

I've had Bennetts on a previous boat and currently have Lectrotabs.

Have been running the Lectrotabs for the last few years without any dramas but if setting up again would go Bennetts.
