Trolling Rod Advice
Submitted by Cameron71 on Mon, 2012-10-29 17:29
I am after a trolling rod to match to my old faithfull Penn International 16s.
The Penn runs 15kg Trilene Big game.
I would spend $300-$400.
Any suggestions? I have in the past just put it on something (anything but often an old Sabre that I just sold in my garage sale) and am not really sure of the characteristics of a trolling rod vs a bottom bashing rod.
Cheers

I wasn't even thinking about
I wasn't even thinking about rollers at all to be honest. Can you still get Beastmasters? I knew a guy who had one about 20 years ago.... (it seems like that long - would be more than 15).
Does the beastmaster come in a 15kg version?
I was also thinking of Sabre although I don't know if you can still get those either.
Look forward to whatever you reckon.

+1 for Tcurve Tiagra range
I wouldn't pass this one, if you're willing to spend that money Cam.

I'd also stick with the 10-15kg rod, rather than the 15-24 one.
