Does anyone know if fishing can be done here and if it has any rewards? Thanks

Below the flood gates are you best bet. Have pulled some undersized bream and nice sized sand whiting from there. Nothing to rave about, but a great way to spend an afternoon with a coldie.
If you want some decent bream action have a scout around the drains between Vasse and Dunsborough along caves road. Some are crappy and shallow, but some hold a fair bit of water and hold good fish. Have pulled quiet a few legal sized bream on hard bodies from them.

Some very big rewards in there, have photo evidence of a very decent tuna caught it there many years ago. No lie.
Go to the floodgates before sunrise and you will see some monster bream in there, theres a marking on the sign on the bridge as proof of size

was at the flood gates near forest beach on chrissy day and saw a massive school of what looked like smallish tailor. There were so many would easily have been in the thousands. They were all about twice the size of the average blowie which im sure most people know the size of by now...
