cockburn sound is one of the best alround spots.

landbased you can get herirng, whiting ( both sand and king george), garfish, tailor, rays, sharks, pinks in season and salmon in season. also get flathead and flouder. most of the beaches in cockburn are good. just burley and fish.

boat much the same but add squid, and better quatity of fish coz u can find more stucture then off the shore.

thats probly my spot.. but i havent fished there for a couple of years. .

cheers

Two Rocks

Mon, 2010-08-02 21:16

Have caught heaps from both shore and boat from Two Rocks.

Lots of crays, [ not too many pot stealers], good fishing in and around the reef plus if you head out deep towards Direction bank or northward to Moore river and Crazy waters [reefy area 1nm NW of river mouth].

Fishing from the shore near the big rock at the start of the marina wall or about 3/4 along the wall always turns up a few fish.

You are spoiling him.

To be honest there are at least a dozen "tailor spots" north of Two Rocks - so I can tell you at least one of them.

for cockburn sound. great diversity right on your doorstep without the need to travel for miles and miles.

P.S. Southern Geraldton (2 Rocks) is not metro area.

ends at Joondalup - that is fact. Beyond that is banjo country and not "metro area" as you northern rednecks are seeming to claim.

I have no wish to know what you guys do with pigs up that way, all I know is we raise them to be slaughtered and eaten - no squealing involved.

Comming from the bloke with lives near north Busselton (just joking he's still in the metro). I know it is hard for you south of the river mod to understand, but suburbs like Morley and Tuart Hill ect are only 15 mins from the city and the beach.

Plus we all know that the fishing is better the further you head north so you already have a head start on the SOR mob.

hahaha

South Gero for sure. I know it's a long drive....and not for the faint of heart....It could be called the wrong side of the tracks but there are no trains this far out...Camel country.
