Yanchep/Two Rocks Advice
Submitted by evilhomer on Fri, 2012-03-23 14:20
Hi all
After some success with tailor last week in north metro myself and a mate are heading towards Yanchep/Two Rocks area for the day on Saturday, I am not looking for a hand out but it is my first time fishing this area and pointers in the right direction would be great. I have used the search function and found a bit of info. You can PM if you dont want the info public.
We have no 4x4 unfortunatley! So accesibility is a probelm for some spots. Any advice greatly appreciated and as with last week I will stick up a report.
Tight lines to anyone fishing the weekend!!

same techniques as metro will
same techniques as metro will get you fish up there. club Capricorn is an ok spot but it can get really crowded on the weekend & it's not uncommon to have 20 people fishing within 200m of the groyne there. There are other reefs there worth fishing but it means carting your gear an extra few hundred meters south along the beach. Sending a balloon out on the north side of the groyne can be very worthwhile. The mouth of the moore river at guilderton is a little further than you have said you were going to go but it turns up mulloway regularly as well as plenty or rays & sharks to test your gear on. There are usually tailor to be found on the reefs either side of the river mouth.

North and south of the lagoon produces some good opportunities. Club Cap as Graeme suggests is good albeit it gets busy. The Two Rocks marina fishes well also both inside and out.The beach just north of the marina turns on some action. Any further north than that and you will be trespassing on my patch LOL.

Club cap and the marina are very good if fished well but the amount of people that turn up on weekends is rediculous, for a less crowded spot head to the beach just south of the lagoon or the beach down the path off compass circle near the reef there turns up plenty of good fish. You don't need a 4x4 to get good fish, I have a 4x4 and wheneva I take it off road I get nothing compared to fishing the usual spots.
always looking for a new challenge!!
