Yardie Creek Crossing

Appreciate some advice here fellow fishers.

Looking to take my family fishing up at Exmouth in May and want to cross Yardie Creek with my series 80 landcruiser and 5.3m Quintrex. The day I'm planning to arrive at the creek and cross there will be neap tides. Can anyone tell me if crossing the creek on a neap tide is possible or alittle to risky?

a few times with up to 19ft ali's and with the right tide and sand bar it's not too difficult. Let the tires down and pick the right time and line. But considering some of the weather they've had up that way i'd try to check with the local boys before you go/arrive.

Would suggest giving Ningaloo station a call and ask Phil or Jane what the track through is like after all the rain they've had. Could be a trailer breaker of a trip.

Wasn't too bad but there are some muddy areas that you can power through but there was a lot of corrugation areas toward the second half of the trip. Nearly tore the car apart.

that's exactly what happen to us last year when we went through Ningaloo Station heading to Windabandi point. Corrugations from hell.

The crossings never too

The crossings never too difficult with soft tyres but you'd be better off crossing on a spring low. Whats the lowest tide when you arrive??  Depending on where you plan on camping you might find it beneficial to go in through Ningaloo homestead from the bitumen.  Depends on whether you need to go via Exmouth or not.  Corrugations will always be there too which in some ways helps keep a few of the softroaders out!!  Again soft tyres and dont be in a rush!!

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback guys,

The day I was planning to cross the tide will be around1.2m high with low tide around 1.0m. Just not sure how much water will be in the creek and if it's at all possible to cross at this height, obviously the lower the tide the better but I just cant get the timing right. The road doesnt bother me too much, just need to be take my time and ensure I got spares.

Appreciate the feedback.
