BJ and I once caught a duie in 8 meters on water right on the corner of west end[rapala], on last trip to exxie Timbo topped that with about 50 kilo of turtle on a deep xrap, took some getting to the boat, it even took a run!!! Lost all his karma for the day

Strange but true
Many years ago when i was young chap. I hooked and landed a blood pressure kit in the swan river when flicking a twister for little tailor.

was fly fishing in pt samson and unbeknown to me when the fly would go behind me the dog was chasing it and he got hooked in the tongue couldnt believe the rod started goin off behind me hahaha the people on the beach were pissing them selves laughing he was ok though wasnt to hard to get the hook out (no vets thank christ they charge worse than tackle shops haha)
We feel nothing but a certain difficulty in continuing to stand

The list is large, but
I caught a largish painted cray up north on a 6/0 bottom bashing in the mouth. Have caught a large mouth nannygai on an unbaited red 6/0 whilst checking the sinker weight in the current. My old cheese caught a whitebait whilst fishing for tailor on you guessed it a dead whitebait, fair and square in the mouth. Would have found it hard to believe if I hadnt seen it. And then there is the missus, but thats another story!

Son Jeff's first hit on a lure at Gnaraloo was a monster NW blowie, hooked while trolling for mackies out behind the reef. Got it right in the top of the head and him being only about 8-9 gave him a good work out.
Got a flying fish on a small chrome slice at night while anchored off Hedland would be my oddest catch on a lure.

PJ shark on squid jig.
Fishing in a tinny out of Palm Beach at Rocky a few years ago, and the little outfit went off!!
Bloody Port Jackson shark took a liking to the jig.
at least it was easy to release! :-)

I caught a seagull at ledge
I caught a seagull at ledge point. The cheeky buggas would follow the casted mulie and pick it off the surface. Was funny walking back across the reef with a segull gliding in the eastily a few meters of the end of the rod like it was a kite. Same thing happened at red bluff but the bird flew into the line and the popper eventually caught up with the bird and hooked up, thought it was a big strike at first. My mate caught a pelican, swallowed the bait and sinker, we just cut the line.
These are some other funny catches. The bloke in the last photo caught a decent pinkie off mindarie a few weeks ago trolling a redhead crazy deep, I thought it was odd for a pink snapper hitting a trolled lure.
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

caught a wrass on a jig similar to an octo jig(forgot the jigs name,looks like a mini squid),was just a bit bigger than the jig,was hoping to catch a snapper, like i saw on ifish,never used a jig b4,it was my first time,that was a month or so ago,still yet to get a decent fish

caught reds off hedland on leadhead jigs - nothing huge but upto 60cms....
oddest catch on a lure was a recent abrolhos trip - saw a 800gram squid snaffle a gulp jerkbait
caught a couple of small turtles on manns stretch 10s up hedland aswell.... pain in the arsse - think your onto a nice barra with the line starting to angle up until the first breath.....
