 had a boys trip planned for this thursday to sunday at jurien. the 2 lads with the boats have bad family news and wont be making the trip. there 2-3 of us still going and anyone heading out and would like a couple deckies who obviously chip in for fuel etc please hit me up.

Ive got a mate up in Broome whose desperate for some coordinates for the "Gravel Patch" approx 10kms South East of Gantheaume. Im not familiar with Broome but if anybody could assist with some rough coordinates we would be most appreciative.

Heads up to all of a recent event. My uncle had his motor stolen off his 5.2 Fraser Voyager. Sometime around the 7th August some lowlifes' stole the motor of the boat! Cut the cables unbolted gone. The engine is a 80hp Yammy 4 stroke, Sn 308509. Where is this shit going to end. Boat was located Mandurah.

Recently found a new bit of turf in relatively close and managed to pull this horse out of his cave. Got the job done on a Sol 3000 with 20lb braid/30 leader on a shortened Saltiga Dorado 70. Luck was on my side. 

I've still got the head (with fins attached) in the chesty if anyone knows who can do a taxidermy for the wall?? I've tried Lyndon Smith but he hasn't got the time. 

Any leads would be great, thanks in advance

G'day Fish heads

I'm trying to plan a camping trip to Depuch Island so I can fish in the deep off of North Point in my 14" Tinnie. There must be all sorts of monsters down there. Has anyone camped there before? It seems like the best option to me. The Balla Balla camping area is quite scabby and full of Nomads so not appealing, it looks like there are a few places on the East side of Depuch that'd be perfect, but I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that you needed permission to land on the Island.

I did a day trip up there a month or so ago but turned back from the Island once I got there as I was getting blasted by the Easterlies and ended up catching and chucking back many catfish and black bream (looked like) in Balla Balla Creek for the day, very underwhelming for the amount of effort. I don't really like creeks unless they are full of Barra and Jacks, they'll turn up in November hopefully. The ocean looked loaded with potential.

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated, I'll repay you with photos, video and feedback here of my trip (s) Though I'm always up for a beer and to meet a new fishing mate if you're in Karratha.

 Right, I caught a few fish on plastics in kalbs. But I got a lot of hits on the plastics when rod

was in rod holder! (I was busy day dreaming) and didn't get a hook up, soooo I was wondering if anyone uses circle hooks or anything like that? Or of the J hooks which ones are the go! Think the ones that I have are no good! 

 Had to get out amongst the good weather on the weekend. Had plenty of none fishing things to do so a quick sessions Saturday morning was the go. Headed out at 5 back in by 8. Ended up with 6 fish, only kept the 4 as that's plenty for us. All around the 80cm mark.

 It wasn't big but 63cm is a keeper.

the fishing almanac was pretty much spot on it was going to be a poor day, had to work hard in the end but got one in the esky for tea.  Boat went really well for its first serious fish in it since I purchased it.  Loved the new tinted windows and new canopy did not get wet at all.  It was a flat day anyway so going 40kph at just over 4000rpm 20 kms out for a fish was a first for me, as I have only been out to the five before in my old tinnie used about 40lts of fuel on the ole 90hp evinrude 2 banger so pretty happy with that. Hopefully many more to come now.

Ive got a bunch of rods and reels I wont to ship to a mate in Kadina SA. Any suggestions on someone local to Perth that will deliver in one piece at a reasonable rate.

This is a good fishing boat and has handled the southern ocean at Windy Harbour for years.

It has been regularly serviced and maintained when it was used.

However this boat has not been in the water for 5 years and started once about 2 years ago.

I am confident that it will start as soon as I put a battery and fresh fuel to it.

This is a reluctant sale due to the woman I have loved for the past 20 years turn out to be a 2 bit cheating w*ore, the boat hasn’t seen the water for 5 years as I have been busy building her and my family a decent life for her to throw away with her cheating habits.

This boat is not pretty so don’t bother looking at it unless you want a no nonsense fishing boat.

It has sat out in the weather for about 3 years and the sticks you see in the pictures come with it, I cannot be bothered to clean it or even pretend it is anything other than what you see.

I am a decent trustworthy bloke (unlike the woman that has caused the sale) and I won’t bullshit about any aspect of the history of it. I will answer any questions you have on it honestly.

I do believe anyone who buys it should give it a good going over and a service before going to sea and I don’t know if the water pump will be ok due to it sitting out side for 3 years, I will update if anyone wants to see it running.

we weren't expecting too much the last 2 Friday nights,so we went fishing, didn't set the world on fire but managed a few nice fish,last night the skips were going mad for some lip piercings on Big Johns smaller jigs they were so thick they were like herring bubbling on the surface after dark,took a few for some friends,we managed 2 pinkies

 Took the boys down to complete angler today as we needed to stock up on plastics etc, was thinking on spending a couple of hunge buuut $650 later we are well stocked. Thought farkit might as well do it all in one hit. Just gotta get out there now. 

Hey all, brought a new boat a while ago and its running a new Garmin plotter/sounder. The problem is every time I start the boat to move the Garmin turns off and re starts. Its a pain when I am moving around a lot or re starting a drift. I am also running a cheap hummingbird sounder that is wired in the same as the Garmin but this stays on.... I put a brand new battery in and same thing happens.... any ideas

This may have been asked on here before but last week had "heated discussion" with a f@#kwit who had come in from miles off shore in a decent 6.5mt+ boat and b-lined it for me while I was anchored only 1.5km offshore. I quickly explained to the missus what was about to go down as this happens almost every second trip I go out.
He came in quick, then started circling my boat from about 60m out and worked his way in looking for the ground I was sitting on.
Like us all we work hard to find good ground and there's nothing worse than scabs coming around steeling your hard earned spots.
My question is, is there any rules out there stopping people coming so close (I could of jumped onto his boat on his last rotation!)
I now write down boat numbers and get my camera out taking photos of the boat. Also thinking of putting up a divers flag too.
Any suggestions that hopefully don't involve jail time? haha.

Ok.  I am off to exmouth on saturday for 9 days of fishing.

Trolling, bottom bouncing, casting.

On the troll we will be targeting spanairds, yft, dollies, cobia, wahoo.

I have a collecton of trolling lures mostly halco laser pros of various colours and depths and giant tremblers and a couple of vent right skirted lures.  What i dont have are any deep diving king browns which i believe the yft like.  If i wanted to add only one more trolling lure to my collection, what would you recommend?

i am thinking of going during the day tomorrow (friday), any advise on parts of south mole to fish from or if i should even bother with south mole would be appreciated
