Went out today on the new boat,  went out from mindarie, and within 10 minutes of trolling the line went off and in came my first ever mackrel :)

Stayed out for only another hour, had a couple of runs but spat the lure.

All in all a good start to what hoefully will end in many more !!!

Heard a rumour that Gamex was cancelled due to bad weather is this true or a lie, have my good mates on C Wirthy fishin the comp but have not heard anything

Wss just after some advice on waxing/ polishing a fibreglass hull.

Can anyone recommend an easy to use product that works well and the best way to go about the process? Ive been reading up on Collonites No 855 Special Fleetwax which seems to get good reviews. Any thoughts?

Also, any tips on the process itself? Im guessing using a buffer will make the job easier/ better result, but Im also a bit hesitant about ending up with a swirly/ cloudy  finish if the jobs not done correctly?

Genunie question as I have no previous frame of reference, and at risk of sounding somewhat of an idiot....

Is it normal for charters, not to anchor over/nearby the target location,  and instead have all on board drop whilst drifting and then wind back up in most cases no more then 5-6 minutes later ???

And then after a single drift move on to the next lump some 20 minutes or more away ???

For around 9 hours on board, Id say barely an hour would of been with a line in the water...

Just need some advice on a light sort of rod to put on a Santiego SA12, I'll using it on a 12lb mono (approx 900m of it)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ps trying to keep it on the low range, not too fuss on rods, as much as I'm on reels

Ive got a mate coming around tommorrow to check out my out board for me tommorow so I can finally get my boat in the water. The outboard is an old 115 Merc (blue stripe). Ive just gone to mix up some fuel but only have normal 2 stroke oil (shell)

Is it alright to use this oil or is it essential to use proper outboard oil?

Whats the difference between the two?

Gday fellas was wondering if i could get some advice on cray pots.Which one's does everyone use wood/plastic/metal?how much weight should i put in them?Whats the best bait?And ive always wandered why do they clip the central flap on crays?Any advice would be appreciated.cheers

I have just brought my first boat home   ayaya  got a bermuda about 5.7m with a 115hp mercury on the back :)

now i am an absoulute begginer for boat fishing and i was just wondering if anyone could give any tips to catch a fish  aha

Looking to head out on sunday morning for a couple of hours cause i have to be home at 11 to play cricket GF :)

Any advice on trolling or drift baiting or anything woukld be much appreciated :)

 Hey guys stumbled across an amazing fishing boat today.. The Bar Crusher 670HT just wondering if anyone has one or has been on one and could tell me exactly wat they are like in decent weather have only heard good things about them but would love to hear from someone who actually owns or has been out on one

hi guys,

I have just picked up my tinnie with a 25 Johnson 2-strokeoutboard on - The guy at the shop pull started it first time, and said they were prone to flooding, and it has a stupid prime lever thing on. He showed me the water coming out of the tell tale, and put in in gear and showed me it was all good.

I get home 10 minutes later, and the motor wont start???

There are no external kill switches and the motor is in nuetral - checked this..

i then toggled the prime thing, and it smelt flooded - took the plugs out and pulled it a few times, put them back and the motor started, but did not idle and died, I opened the throttle manually and kept it there, and the motor started and ran at a high idle, cause of the forced throttle - I held it there for a while to clear out its throat a bir, and noticed the water was not flowing from the tell tale, and dropped the motor to an idle, but it just died.

i checked the flow and it was fine on the muffs. The leg seemed to be hot, so i let it cool off, removed plugs, drained the carb from the screw on the bottom and the plugs are brand new - checked for spark, and they are sparking well.

forced the throttle agin and restarted the motor - same thing, runs erratically and wont idle.....

Any Johnson guys out there with a tip?

I can take it back to the dealer to check it, but must be something stupid, as it worked fine there??

i'm looking at getting a big baitrunner to match up with my 12' Ugly Stik for beach and rock fishing, as well as some bottom bouncing on a smaller rod. At the moment I can't decide whether to spend the extra $ on a 12000D or Thunnus or go with the tried and tested 6500B? I have heard reports of the D and Thunnus having gear problems and that the 6500B isn't as amenable to use with braid as the other two.....

Has anyone out there had experience with these reels and if so what are your thoughts?

I am looking at buying a Quintrix 3,9 m tinnie for the sound/river and a quick fish or for crabbing etc.

I am 100 odd kg and tall, and want to know how these boats are for stability - would I be able to stand up on the boat when fishing, or will it topple over?

Do they bob around a lot on the water?

Would a 25HP motor be suitable for this size boat.

Hey guys, Needing help with balloon rigs off the beach, were do I sit my bait in the water, top, middle, bottom, do use use a weight, was wondering if anybody could help me out with any diagrams or talk throught a rig set up with lengths and all, not using helium or should I. G'day All,

I have been seeing loads of good reports coming out of two rocks was going to give it a crack soon, however there seems to be loads of congestion on the ramp in the morning, Is there much of a crowd around 4am? I would assume after 5am it would be a mad house.

Next question, has anyone / is it legal to stay overnight in the marina there? Either parked up and launch early, or sleep on the boat already in the water with an anchor out, obviously keeping close to the wall and staying out of the way of any night fishing boats...

been looking at lowrance / raymarine / furuno and although i won't be upgrading for a few months so far this is the system I'm already leaning towards but keen to see how you find this setup, if your happy with it, what choice of transducer and sounder module you went with etc

I was just wondering if anyone took a computor or camera to Exmouth for Gamex this year. I have looked everywhere & cant seem to find any reports or many pics. Is the weather that bad & keeping everyone in the marina or is it that you are all far too busy baggin & taggin. lol  I hope it's the latter.
