Perth to Exmouth in a Trailer boat?
Submitted by BQ544 on Fri, 2008-08-15 20:40Looking to do Perth to Exmouth in a trailable boat in April. Has anyone else done this trip? Just looking for suggestions or comments.
I think we would go two rocks to Jurien, Jurien to Geraldton, Geraldton to Kalbarri, Kalbarri to sharkbay, sharkbay to carnovan, Carnovan to Coral bay, coral bay to Exmouth. Spend a week in exmouth and then trailer the boat home.
Boat will be a 26 footer.
thanks for any help

Exmouth Sails
Submitted by Lucky Tim on Thu, 2008-08-14 18:27Hi guys
I'm doing the Exmouth run in November to chase sails. Are there any prefered tides/ moon phases or is it just a matter of there one day, somewhere else the next? Also what livies do people switch bait with up there? Is it yakkas or slimies or mainly dead garfish?
I'm pretty flexible with dates, just trying to plan it now. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

Ultimate Kayak - for viewing your catches
Submitted by Quan on Tue, 2008-08-12 22:29Thought I share this...
http://www.clearbluehawaii.com/products/boats/molokini.html
The Molokini is an all-transparent two-passenger kayak made out of the same durable polycarbonate material used in the production of bulletproof glass and fighter jet canopies. It comes equipped with an anodized aluminum internal frame system, dual flotation bladders and a three-quart water bailer. The Molokini features a removable lightweight anodized aluminum frame system, allowing the user to minimize space consumption, thus making transporting and storage of multiple units easy and convenient. The simple purity of the Molokini's elegant yet powerful transparent hull has an irresistible beauty. The Aluminum internal frame and the timeless, no-frills shapes of the Molokini accessories create a sportive and modern effect. Classical exclusivity is conveyed by the sleek curves and brilliant transparency. Sportive seats designed for comfort not only make for a pleasant trip, but also meet your demands for quality and style. This model is recommend for areas that experience calm ocean conditions. New retractable skeg system included in the standard version improves tracking, a feature especially convenient for long distance paddling. If purchased additionally, the new optional outrigger system improves stability when in choppier waters and renders flipping practically impossible., Unparalleled material durability, weather ability and impact resistance are among the Molokini's advantages. Impact resistancy tests have included intense crashing against rocky shorelines, 20 ft drops, hammer blows and an ejection from a vehicle at 70mph. Tests performed on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, have proven that the visibility on a sunny day and during non-turbulent water conditions can yield views to depths of 75 ft plus for the exploration of new worlds waiting to be discovered. Tests have included encounters with pods of dolphins, coral farms and nocturnal underwater sea life.

Question about Fisheries Researchers.
Submitted by Rodrat on Mon, 2008-08-11 16:00Hi
What powers if any do fisheries research officers have?
Coming back in to point peron ramp on monday and when
we pulled up to the wash down bay a gentleman came over
and said he was a fisheries research officer and he wanted
to ask me a few questions. Basicly the ins and outs of a ducks backside!
Anyway one question he asked was did we have any fish on board.
We didnt and i told him no. I was assuming that he didnt believe me as
he then said, well if you do i have to sight them. I was pretty sure that you dont
have to answer any questions or show them anything,is that right?
Cheers

OK - I have already
Submitted by 7739ian on Mon, 2008-08-11 15:55admitted i am a computer rooter - i have been trying to load a photo i thought may be interesting into a post using Sambo's sure fire instructions but it only seems to give me the option of putting them into a gallery rather than a forum topic. Also the steps listed don't seem to work - ie: image assist? - i can't find that either. Yes, I am possibly a bit simple but can lift heavy things.

Post up your Pics
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2008-08-11 14:47Hey Guys n Girls,
I've really noticed that the site has dropped off recently as a result of a few of the freezer discussions we had the last couple of weeks. Please don't be afraid to post photos of your catch because if we all go into hiding and don't post them up then the site will die a slow death, which no-body wants to see. Please keep the photo's coming and as always, I will ensure that those jealous individuals that try and criticise will be removed from the site.
I know you Perthies haven't had much weather to write home about lately, but if you've got some pics from the old days it would be great to see them. Lets get this place moving again with some interesting stuff to look at to backup the great forum discussion.
Cheers,
Adam

Get Strapped Bracket - or how to get harness lugs on smaller reels
Submitted by till on Sat, 2008-08-09 08:15Hi,
just thought I'd link these as I was talking to a few people about these at the party last night.

Alan Tani seems to be really into these, you can see him add them to his Saltist in his saltist upgrade snaps! They come in three colours: Gold, Silver and Black.
Edit: I put Alan's handle in as well, its articulated, but not at the same angle range as tiburon because they have a patent IIRC.
