Advice needed

Hi guys.

I need some advice on a rod choice for beach fishing. I have a Shimano Torium overhead real that i bought myself a year ago on holiday back in South africa but i Treid 2 rods so far. The first one was a Penn Ultragraph 10' rod and the second a Wilson Seacaster 14'. Still not managing to with the reel.

Any suggestion????????????????????

Happy fishing

Depending on price, eBay has shimano backbones 15-25kg , I think there 10ft?. For $160. , there's Gary Howard, live fibre, Ajiking, etc the list goes on, I use the wilson live fibre 15-25 LBG rod, to me it's a mint rod, but I'm mainly ballooning with it.

14 foot

To cast that reel properly you would need a 13 / 14ft with a stiff tip and short butt, try a Poseidon. The Wilson Seacaster is too soft and best suited to an eggbeater (coffee grinder).

i think casting with these

i think casting with these overheads reels is an art mate, i think alot of practice and patience is needed when learning with these reels, im looking around a 13ft rod with low mount reel seat, but as ive not used O/h before im just looking for a cheapish rod to start with just in case i dont get on with it. I believe its best to run mono to start with so its easier to un bird nest if it happens.
