current employment
Unfortunately, self education expenses are claimable for current employment only. You can't claim even if it's to get a new job.

Could be deductible
Generally, any expenses that lead to a new job are not deductible.
However, if you are "renewing" an existing skill/qualification then it would be.
Shoot me a message if you have any tax queries (no charge). I have my own tax practice.
