Managed to sneak an extra week of RnR this swing and managed a few trips off the drop off and also managed some dhuies on the way home enjoy the pics!

Hutch where fishing 300ms for the hapuka and have fished to almost 400ms with my slow pitch set up i dont be leave in winching fish on electrics!

Using 450-600gm jigs mate
Using 450-600gm jigs mate have used down to 350 but i like them to get down quick and the fish are not super picky

Last pic is a Black Snoek. From what I have read they do not rate highly as a table fish and have dark red flesh. Might go OK as a bait though.

I believe they are oily as you suggest. They are related to the escolars and oilfish which contain laxative properties so some caution with respect to how much you ate would be advised. Reports from people who have filletted them say they are very bony.
