Fishing around Denmark
Submitted by fuzzy79 on Fri, 2016-03-04 21:34
I am heading down to Denmark on Sunday for a couple of days and looking for places to fish. I have a 4WD and 5.2m runabout, so pretty flexible with options.
I have done a search and it looks like KGW and pink snapper fishing in the Wilson Inlet is the best option. Is there any particular area in the inlet to go for? Do you just look for sand patches for the KGW and structure for the pinkies (do you get structure in the inlet)?
Any other suggestions? Would I need to travel far offshore to get into decent fish? Which direction would people suggest?
Not looking for exact locations (unless you want to share), just general advice. All advice appreciated.
Thanks

I love fishing in denmark.
I love fishing in denmark. Wilson's inlet is the best i always catch something when i go there but there is a specific spot, im not too sure of what its called but i sorta know how to find it. its a grassy bank which is right next to an island and the island has bridges allowing people to access it. there are always heaps of people fishing there and it always produces heaps of fish, i usually catch whiting, and the occasional herring.

Thanks mate. I think I know
Thanks mate. I think I know where you mean, the grassy banks are on the side of the road down to Ocean Beach. Last time I was there we caught a couple of snapper and a KGW from there.

Boat Harbour
offshore fishing I used to launch at Boat harbour then travel East along the coast to Stanley island and directly out from there is some reef the locals call Block of Flats, last time there caught Dhufish, Red Snapper, Queenies and Blackass, It's about 300 metres off the island and 40 metres deep cheers ACE

What's it like trying to
What's it like trying to launch a boat from boat harbour. I thought the track in to there was pretty rough (at least it was last time I went in there).
Stanley island looks to be half way between Parrys beach and boat harbour, maybe I could launch at Parrys. Would that be easier?
Know any spots in Wilson inlet?

5 metre runabout ok
boat harbour launch in a 5 m runabout is ok and I got in on the track no problems , yes you can launch at Parrys but once the SW wind comes in retrieval is tricky with waves, peaceful bay is a good option but I don't know any spots off there cheers ACE

In the Wilson inlet, push up
In the Wilson inlet, push up towards the mouth on the eastern side of prawn rock channel, there are a couple of deep gutters that run through there which have silver bream, whiting, Garfield and flathead cruising through them. Usually a few boats around, but if you can find your own spot, with a bit of berley you can't go wrong. Good luck

How many Ramps are there in Denmark
Never fished there with a boat. Just wondering how many ramps are there on the inlet. From Google Earth it looks like 2. Is this correct?
