Folks borrowing cray pots
I heard today some folks just go out cut folks floats off and put there own legitimate ones on , some of these people are on holidays often from the country and can't be bothered buying there own pots,,
Because the fisherys dept don't check folks going out most are undetected,,when they holidays up there just cut there floats off or take them home to sell for beer money,,,
Just a heads up for people i can see only one way of stopping them and that is having your ID burnt into your pot or ID metal plate fitted,,then they might just go onto easier pickings,,
I wonder how many people go to an area and there pots gone but they are in fact looking at them,,just has different floats on them ?
I do wonder also how many end up in the Quokka for sale ? Folks just attaching they own floats and bringing them back to sell,,a great money earner if folks don't brand they No. into the pots,,

LOL, but yeah its from discussions i had at a tackle shop yesterday and i never actually thought about it,,its not enough to mark your floats there should be a law that pots must be marked as well, folks that don't are just encouraging theft.

Whoever
these pot borrowing 'folks' are should be shot. It's basically theft IMO.
Until fisheries take this sort of thing seriously nothing will stop them, unfortunatly.

I guess its been going on for
I guess its been going on for donkey years and the bad boys have a few tricks up they sleeve i guess,,
The fisherys could be 2 minutes behind them and check them and it would be fully legit, only way is to brand the pots then the IDs do not match unless some one has other ideas,,
I don't fish for crayfish but it still annoys me to hear folks loseing the pots and crays to these folks,,someone nominated 4-4.30 am or there abouts as the probable time that a lot of baddies get up to there dirty deeds,,hopefully the fisherys have operations going at this time but its a hard task to stop people "borrowing" when it takes a couple minutes to do a change over,,
And how many people steal pots and sell them in the quokka, gumnut,,ebay etc ? hmmm (after doing the quick change over)
