Well well. I have just heard that after a mere 5 years the SW Stella 20000 is being replaced with a new model plus a 30000 as well in 2013. Very interesting.
This link has some info worth looking at. Nothing confirmed yet! I'm more interested in the runout sale. Might get myself a couple of 2008 models when they go for a steal!
I'm assuming the 30000 and new switch bait series rods from Ian miller were designed hand in hand. The idea being more people are targeting bigger billfish and tuna on standup gear now.
20odd Kg's of drag sustained is already an effort, and I personally am long in the tooth. Beefing up a Stella 20000 is going to be one beast off a reel. I think I will stick with the 10 000, as even this has enough grunt.
They sell an attachment for a spin rod that lets you hook the rod up to a harness so you can use heavy drag on big reels like this. I'll stick with my 10 K as well, plenty for what I want to use it for.
