Swan River Crabs

Location: Swan River
Bait/Lures: Skippy Frames and Chicken Necks
Gear: Crab drop nets
Rig: NA
Target species: Blue Manna Crab
Decided to go crabbing on Sunday morning with a mate. We both have Kayaks which was alot of fun and relatively easy to do. We arrived at around 6am and had all the pots out and dropped reasonably quickly.
After a couple of hours on the water we ended up with 7 keepers. Did manage to catch one berried female but she went straight back.
I was amazed at the size of the swan river crabs having only caught Mandurah crabs before.
Three photos
photo 1 - bloody crab wont let me get a beer
photo 2 - the haul
photo 3 - crab stack (recipe from fishing WA magazine highly recommended)
Thanks for reading.

What Kayak do you have?
I was thinking of getting a small tinnie for this but a Kayak sounds much cheaper. Any suggestions/pics??

Kayak
Good work Crezz and Randall they are both great efforts!
Grooveepants its a Mission Surge Kayak. I am a bloke that enjoys the food and beer a little too much so tip the scales at around 110 kilo, its load capacity is 250 kilo so I feel very comfortable on it not to mention it has the ability to comfortably carry myself and another person.

As for choices of kayaks they are endless and as too often is the case comes down to the $$$ and availability of use. The one I use was a gift to me so I didnt have much input into the model etc but it does a good all round job. Fitted with an anchor system and rod holders etc its an all rounder. Sure there are far better fishing kayaks out there and far worse ones as well.
With a young family and the chance to get out a rarity the kayak is a great option for me not to mention no rego, low maintenance etc.
I have had it in the ocean once....that being said it was a paddle to seal and penguin island so very sheltered and no exposure to true swell etc.
Happy to help with any other questions if you have them.
cheers
