Tomorrow morning

Hi everyone. I was going to go tailor fishing tomorrow morning. I live south of the river but anywhere is great. It will be my first fishing off the beach, I have heard tailor is better fishing at night but can't go at night. I was thinking trigg beach using a gang of 4 5/0 hooks and a size 3 or 4 star sinker with 30lb trace. Any info on a great beach for morning tailor fishing would be great.

Cant help with spots, but have had all my luck on big greenbacks (70cm) between 6 and 10am
All on lures though, but definately worth a go with bait aswell
Good luck

Trigg is one of my local
Trigg is one of my local beaches and very good for tailor. I havent fished it for a while but its usually a productive little spot. Evenings are usually busy...with muppets, mornings are somtimes busy but there are typically better/more reasonable fishos.
If you are fishing a paternoter/running sinker in the vicinity of the reef I would'nt use a star sinker - it will snag up to easy, use a spoon, bean or drilled bullet sinker far less likely to snag on the reef. you could baitcast mulies (lightly weighted to aid distance if you aren't a strong caster or unweighted if the mulies are a good size). Though you don't need to be on top of or immediately adjacent to the reef to catch fish either anywhere on that stretch of coast will produce fish.
With regards to qty/size of hooks - match them to the bait, some bags of mulies are bigger than others....its no good having a gang finish 2 inches from the tip of the tail....unless you snip the tail off.
Should be very nice light easterlies in the morning (and cery low swell so unlikely to be many surfers). I don't think the prime bite times are until later in the day, but who cares getting out is better than staying in.

Yeah give them a go, i used
Yeah give them a go, i used to mostly fish shallow reef so floating poppers only, if there are gaps in the reef and some deeper water i guess you could try the twistys at your own risk!
Never used the richter plugs before but i hear good things about them..
Most of my fish came from a no name brand stick bait, be persistent , sometimes took a couple of hours before the fish moved in, usually spooked the rest of the pack after catching one (or loosing)..
One good 60+cm tailor is enough for a morning effort anyway, i was using 6lb braid with 8lb leader

Went to trigg this
Went to trigg this morning,Some locals said no chance of tailor this morning because swell not high enough. We stayed down there and caught a coule nice sized herring, a big sand whiting, a yellowfin bream and a wrasse. Nice place down there, will give it another go soon!

About 4 hours from like 6:30am-10:30am. Herring and others on the bite at high tide. Rig was swivel, about 20cm of 8lb mono with floating burley cage then another swivel, then about 1 metre of 6lb fluoro then size 1/0 circle hook. Using cut up prawn
