where to target landbased samsons
Submitted by EL SYD on Sat, 2012-10-20 07:56
where in WA would one go to target a samson landbased, what time of year and how would I go about it,
as in do I have to burley up and fish off a bunch of rocks or can I use lures and cover a bit of ground.
I know of Albany from ol'mates post and articals from western angler best pic ever of a samson. And kalbarri I dont need specific spots just the towns, for I'm planing another road trip down to that part of the country again.
cheers syd

Well this time of year i target sambos off the busso jetty on live squid around the pylons. Then when late summer i head down to the rocks on the west coast mainly sugerloaf which normally produces the goods but there plenty of other spots just remember to watch the swell . I normaly use live herring slide baiting or under a float.

Cosy corner and elephant rock
Cosy corner and elephant rock are a couple of consistent spots near augusta. Cosy's has a decent road going to it now but the track to elephant rock (off cosy corner rd) is 4wd only.
