Schoolies love the plastic, caught and released dozens of these and had to use 120lb leader to stop loosing lures. Good fun on the barra gear.

Was having some fun throwing around little poppers for some decent brassy trevs the other day and ended up with this mini broadbar spaniard giving me some stick on the light gear.

A very angry dolphinfish that wasn't happy to have his photo taken, made Renae work for it after a pretty good tussle on 15.

Had one drop on a spot before coming in as the northerly ruined the day, plenty of these down there according to the sounder.  Released.

A smallish dolphinfish caught on boxing day, apparently there were heaps about out at the FAD, but we only found this one looking for billy's.  Unfortunately a bit blurry as I didn't realise it was on manual focus. :(

Nice 57cm trout from this morning, saw about 15 that were close on size, but one was enough until tomorrow.

Of course I had to forget my camera when it was going off.  Had monster queenies, school and shark macks, trevs of all varieties and cobia fighting over my plastic.  This guy gave me ten minutes of stick on my barra gear.

3 Generation's of the Nelson's enjoying their day fishing.  Unfortunately not much action on either boat, well, surface wise.  We only got one small striped tuna and one dolphinfish whilst the boys hooked up to a saily but didn't have him on long and got a good feed of goldband.  Lots of boats going for billfish but not much action, water was cold (by our standards) and very green. :(

Got this little bluebone just before getting out, missed quite a few good ones due to the murky water and bad shooting.

Mate went down and speared this trout and had it get off and disappear into the bommie, I kept cruising around and found him ten minutes later and gave him the finishing shot before he disappeared again.  I gave it back to him but stole a photo. :)

One of the best days of 09, even though we got totally toweled up by the fish, this guy made our arvo being extremely friendly and letting us have a pat.

Had a pretty fat day the day of Sam's first billfish, one little black marlin and a heap of tasty morsels for him to take back to Perth.  Not very big goldies, but still tasty all the same.

Playing around with a billfish pic in paint shop, thought it turned out pretty cool.

Well, you pay top dollar for Kailis prawns and this is what you get.  Mind you, this is only an endeavour, but the tigers I've got in the freezer aren't any better.  How do you feel when your paying a shipload of money to find every prawn with their poo line roed up with green gooz.  If you were a prawn trawling business, wouldn't taking prawns that are spawning be like shitting in your own nest?  Less for next year and average product??  Just a warning to those wanting to buy Exxy prawns late in the season, save your $$ because removing poolines is one thing, but having to dissect each prawn to remove the roe, ain't fun!

Little 50cm trout from this morning.  Had another case of the 'Reggies' with a 65cm trout just sitting mid water staring at me, I did atleast take the shot this time but missed him point blank, so sad!  Got the form back after then, even though this shot was pretty average.

What the locals fish in and as you can see at the front of the boat, how they keep their catch! (just see the fish on the spear) Already cooked before you get home, how clever is that! ;))

6 of the 17 Portugese Commandos that were protecting us on the Island spent 20 minutes trying to get their boat going, got out the battery jump starter, started tapping their alternator having a good look over and discussion etc etc.  Aussie Mick says should I go help, wanders up through the macho men and has one look, puts the man overboard clip back on and kicks it over.  Lol.  One could only hope they were better with their weapons than they were with their other equipment.  I took a whole series of photos to capture the moment, but this one was probably the best, was funny as to watch. Oh and the boat in the background was the 2nd best boat in the fleet, nothing else came close (ex-pat), mostly outriggers.

The fishing destination for the East Timor fishing comp - Unfortunately the fishing wasn't as good as hoped, but the water looked insane and on its day, I reckon it would have some sick fishing.  Report to come in the next reeltime magazine.

Pretty joy out on the 120m line.

Decided to change over lures as there wasn't any action on it, wasn't till I got home that I noticed I was missing one key element.  Don't know what snipped through the 150lb wire trace, but it didn't touch the skirt!

Wasn't real happy about what this guy did to my lure!  Only fish for 5 hours, except one dropped dolly and a mysto that stole my hook.
