Got my first lb barra yesterday and first in Exmouth and on popper too, YOOOTZ, I had to blank out the background coz it was caught near the marina and I don't want anyone going to my 'spot'! Wasn't expecting it thats for sure.

I was talking to Jeff the other day about one of my soft oscars starting to melt whilst it was out on the boat.  (On a rod after being used)  Funnily enough he said the same thing happened to his soft grassy whilst being in his lure wallet.  Just wondering if anyone has had this happen?  The lure is pretty much ruined, you can use it in the water, but the action is not the same.

Unfortunately Alex missed out on getting his line class mackerel today, but he still had a great time out and was representing fishwrecked in the junior section of Gamex.  Hopefully you will see an interview with Alex on GWN in the coming days.

This was the first bill weighed for the comp - 93.5kg on 15kg, most of us guessed it for 60, got a fair shock.

Good weekend of fishing

Thanks to the guys at Tackleshack, Emnma is stoked with her new Penn Spinfisher Rod and Fluegger Reel.

She reckons next comp whe will catch a big Salmon or Tailor now that she has a bigger rod.

After 4 hours of trolling from 200m to 450m we see a bow wave come from 50m behind the last skip bait and chase onto it with what seemed like a marlin action, but too far out to see definitively what it was.  We had seen 3 free jumping marlin in the area already and were thinking f*** yes, this is it, we've got him up.  After a quick freespool we got a solid hookup and spent the next 25 minutes fighting on 24kg to get this stinkn grey coat.  I couldn't bring myself to take a photo of the devastation in Jeffo's face... Talk about fishwrecked!

Little longtail from last Saturday, good fun - released.

Three Harlequin fish and a nice Hammer head shark, very nice hour of fishing just north of the cape,4-5 ks out, weather has been just great for a late afternoon fish this week.

Felt pretty crook on monday (cough, cough) took the lads out for a muck around and fished four different spots till about 10:30 ish but were just feeding the wrasse and letheries, nada.On the way back I found a strange plateau looking thing about the size of a house only 9 mile out rising from mid 30's to 19ish. Got the whole lot in about one hour. Me thinks I wont fish that spot for a year or so. Heaps of undersize snaps as well as the one in the pick. I dont know if the lump is rock or something else. It looked like a box on the sounder but it is way too big to be a container(s).
