Building a house: Tradies wanted!!
Submitted by jus on Sun, 2010-11-21 12:35Hey guys,
I'm currently building a house in Darch (NOR) and are there any tradies out there who can provide quotes for the following:
- front + back landscaping (including reticulation etc)
- tiling the living areas
- installing down lights around the place
- soakwells
I figured I'd rather help out a fellow Fishwrecked member out and make it a win-win for both of us...if the quote is competitive of course!
Anyone who has any other services they can offer to all of us who are currently building just post below too so the rest of us know you're out there
Cheers,
Justin

Metallica
Submitted by PattyT on Sun, 2010-11-21 09:02I was lucky enough to see these guys in Melbourne last night... WOW!! Best thing I have ever seen. Not sure if they toured to Perth or not but god they were impressive. Been a massive fan for most of my life and last night proved to me once again why I love them so much.. I'm still so pumped up!!
The days of the BIG metal and rock bands are slowly coming to an end.. dont think there will be another band like Metallica anyways.

Happy Birthday Tradies - Okuma Warranty Claim
Submitted by PerthGlory on Fri, 2010-11-19 22:25Happy Birthday to all tradies for the month of November.
Have any FW tradies had any first hand experience with an Okuma warranty claim?
I now believe the lifetime warranty means give us back your reel and we will take a lifetime to look at it.

friday funnies
Submitted by Timmo on Fri, 2010-11-19 11:19After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well" for my age.
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I will live to be 80?"
He asked: Do you smoke tobacco or drink alcoholic beverages?"
"Oh no," I replied. "I don't do drugs, either."
"Do you have many friends and entertain frequently?"
"I said, "No, I usually stay home and keep to myself".
"Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?"
I said, "No, my other doctor said that all red meat is unhealthy!"
"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?"
"No, I don't," I said.
"Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?"
"No," I said. "I don't do any of those things."
He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a shit?

TRADIES
Submitted by Jody on Tue, 2010-11-16 16:36
There must be quite a few on here, and I’m sure 99% of you do the righty
I too am in the building industry, so am quite aware how excellent it is to finish early in the warmer months, get home and head out for a fish or whatever.
For the past 14 months we have had a new two storey house going up next door, and the amount of tradies who think it is OK to start throwing ladders around/scraping back render off the slab/start a compactor/deliver bricks with a forklift/dismantle scaffolding/chasing conduit and pipes/cranking the cement mixer/use a nail gun/ yada yada yada, well before 7am, in suburbia – It is NOT OK!
It is FAR from OK.
I don’t care whether “ The suns up lady” “Oh?Can you hear that?” “give me a break, I’ve got heaps on today” “some of us have to work for a living” “ I’ve got things planned for this arvo” or any other wanky excuse. That law is in place for a reason.
Unfortunately for these tossers, who know better, and ignored my request to stop, I have the home phone number for the MD of the building company.
I think it only fair that if I am woken, then so should he be. And his wife. And their new bub.
And as for the total prick who started throwing his scaffolding around this morning at …. get this ….. 5.15am …… are you for f**king real?????
I know this is a common occurrence as I hear it all the time from others, so if it IS you, can you please go for a fish at first light, instead of after work…….
I need all the beauty sleep I can get
LOL … that feels better

Cannot wait!!!
Submitted by carnarvonite on Sun, 2010-11-14 16:11Been a while since we had any good weather so put the boat in for its first service and hopefully get it back on Monday or Tuesday and by the look of the weather for later on in the week I can't wait.
I haven't seen a forecast like that for up here for a long time so one would expect if you want a tradey to do some work later in the week to forget it because they will all be over passed the islands dropping a line or diving and who could blame them after 3 weeks solid of 20-25 knot southerlies every day.

Tiger shark robs Diver!
Submitted by Rodrat on Sat, 2010-11-13 10:33AN underwater photographer got the fright of his life when a shark snatched the camera from his hands.
The diver was left shaking while the tiger shark swam off with the camera between its teeth.
The 2m creature later dropped the camera several metres away on the sea bed off the Bahamas.
Tiger sharks are considered one of the most dangerous shark species in the world and are responsible for many recorded attacks on humans, second only to the great white shark.
Photographer Karin Brussaard, from the Netherlands, captured all the action on camera.
She said: "There were about six or seven tiger sharks down there and we couldn't believe our luck.
"We were having a great time photographing them all until one diver swam towards one of them trying to get a better shot.
"The shark suddenly seemed to get angry and snatched the camera right out of his hands. I couldn't believe it. It swam away with it and we all just looked on in amazement.
"Luckily it did drop it eventually and remarkably the camera only seemed to have a couple of scratches on it."
