Sound Marine Products
Submitted by Ashen on Fri, 2016-10-28 22:59Has anyone bought things from Sound Marine Products? They have an add on Gumtree advertising cheap GPS combos etc. I had a look at their website and a lot of the prices are half of "retail".
Too good to be true?

Boat insurance assessor needed
Submitted by mjohns on Fri, 2016-10-28 16:36Hi, Advise required please. Someone smashed into my the back of my boat and trailer a few days ago when I was on my way to the marina and pretty much wrecked the motor, trailer and boat.
The guys insurance company asked me to get a marine assessor to work our the value of damage caused for the claim as they dont deal in boats enough to have heir own marine assessor.
Its in a holding yard in Innaloo, does anyone know who would do this valuation for me please? Its a 4.2 Quinny centre console. The tow car has a fair bit of damage also but the insurance company is sorting that out ok.
Thanks
Mick

Snake Repellers?
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2016-10-24 12:23Does any one know if those snake repellers work, the ones that put out the sonic thump? Or anyone know of any other ideas, considering the shovel is only once you see them and generally you dont until its too late.
Old man is seeing a fair few come out down south and I'm wondering if it might be a worthy investment?

2016 AFL Draft
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Mon, 2016-10-24 10:06So now we turn to the draft where the fortunes of a club can be made (The Bont) or broken (Masten).
Gold Coast have picks 4, 6, 8 and 10 which would normally work in West Coast’s favour as they’d be looking to draft by position and not necessarily the best player at that pick but they are chasing quality mids after losing O’Meara and Prestia which is also our area of need with our pick 12.
I have a feeling that West Coast are going to pull a big surprise and draft Powell-Pepper to add some grunt to our midfield and learn under the tutelage of Priddis and Mitchell. It is highly likely that we’ll have to use pick 34 to match a bid on Waterman.
Word is that Freo are chasing Petrevski-Seton and that they are confident he will still be available at pick 7 but if Tim English is available then surely they take him.

Evaporative cooling unit replacement
Submitted by Ashen on Sun, 2016-10-23 10:35Hi guys. We currently have a Celair evaporative cooling system. Just got it serviced today and was told that it will need some new parts "soon". Parts and installation was quoted nearly $2000! WTF!
We're now considering replacing the whole "motor unit" with something new. There are 6 vents in the house.
Any brands and models to recommend and avoid? Any evap cooling tradies willing to quote a new unit?
Cheers guys

Another boat missing
Submitted by sea-kem on Wed, 2016-10-19 20:25Not a good sign, no flares or EPIRB activated. Don't know what the conditions have been like down there, whales are migrating down at the moment so may have hit one in the dark, but I'm speculating. let's hope for a good outcome.

American Boat Trailer
Submitted by wagyl on Wed, 2016-10-19 16:55I have a MagicTilt Tandem 3tonne trailer from the USA. It is licensed in WA but has American parts. I need sets of springs, equalizers etc but the axles etc are in good condition. Does anyone know where I can get these from? I have tried Martins, but they don't stock them for USA trailers.

Boat propeller question
Submitted by Half Cut on Wed, 2016-10-19 14:14I have a 26 Caribbean with twin 190hp 4.3 mercruisers running Alpha 1 legs with 14/19 s/s vengence props.
I'm currently get 4500 RPM WOT with half load on calm water.
I want to prop down as I think I'm over pitched. I'm looking at 14.5/17 4 blade turning point ali props.
My thoughts are it would be a better setup and may add some stern lift being 4 blades.
Anybody own a similar vessel or got good prop knowledge?
Russ.

World War III?
Submitted by Fathom on Sun, 2016-10-16 15:39You don't hear much about what is really going on through main stream media, but....I reckon we are very close to having a World war. If USA doesn't back off then the shit will hit the fan. Russia was asked to help Syria, USA just rocked up and wants to control the area. All it will take is either a Russian jet or US jet to be shot down over Syria (both "teams" want to control a NO FLY zone)....then it's on. Scary times.

Can I get a lift to Dongara?
Submitted by slothwan on Thu, 2016-10-13 18:59HI Guys and Girls,
Is anyone heading up north on Saturday (15th Oct) with a spare seat? I left a car up in Dongara last week and then sailed back to Fremantle. Happy to contribute to fuel. I have the option of the Traswa bus, so I'm not strandard but I thought I'd shout out as sometimes a bit of banter on the road is nice
Cheers

Submitted by quadfisher on Sat, 2016-10-08 08:24Yes for those who remember such phrases as , Pickle me grandmother , or , your not taking the kingswood,
a sad day indeed.
I never realized he did voice overs , for louie the fly , and mr sheen as well , quite a career
he had , and as said in the article , a different time before P.C came in , never to be seen again.

Outboard Diagnostic Tools
Submitted by Stoinka on Fri, 2016-10-07 11:20Just wanted to see if anyone has purchased a diagnostic tool to get detailed engine reports from there outboard.
Honda Marine division has just made one available called 'Dr H'. It is a slimline unit that plugs directly into the engine and is used in conjunction with a laptop or desktop computer to provide detailed engine reports.
Check it out at www.brpdiagnostics.com/honda-dr-h-outboard-diagnostic/
I am pretty keen on purchasing one.

Landcruiser 200
Submitted by bsir on Fri, 2016-10-07 09:19After a few years of service i think it is time to move on from the discovery 3.
I am considering a replacement tow vehicle. it will need to tow 3.5T.
The front runner at the moment is the LC200. I will probably go for a 2nd hand one, but before i head down this route, was wandering if anyone could let me know how much they paid for a new one (I will probably go for a GXL but am considering a VX just for the KDSS).
I did consider the jeeps, however they look a little small inside after having the disco.
Thanks

Mundine being stupid. Again.
Submitted by Auslobster on Fri, 2016-09-30 10:34Calling for an indigenous boycott of the Australian national anthem during the grand final. He's not even thinking for himself...NFL players have been doing it for over a month, citing "racial injustice".
What the cumb dunt doesn't realise, is that he's hurting the cause more than helping it due to nobody being silly enough to listen to him.
