Out of date flares
Submitted by gruntre69 on Fri, 2018-04-27 15:30Hi Gents,
I have a requirement for out of date flares. I'm a licenced skydive display organiser and I use these during display parachute jumps into the city.
I have 2 skydiving loads tomorrow and probably have enough for that but could use some more and am looking to increase my stock levels.
If you have mored than you need as spares, I' be keen to get hold of some and am in need of the inshore type hot flares and the hand held smokes from either inshore or off shore kits.
I don't really have a need for the rockets (could use them to shoot at jumpers doing the wrong thing)
Give me a yell if you can help me out (PM), North of river.

Tomorrow - Early 3 mile or in close.
Submitted by Kakkerlak on Fri, 2018-04-27 13:49What's everyone doing tomorrow? Thinking of my usual routine and hit the Hillary's gap at 5am for a snapper bash but the swell is very close to my cut off of 2.5m. Gets the adrenaline pumping in the dark when you can hear the swell around you but can not see a thing. Might chicken out and stay in close.....

Hydrofoils? Are they worth having?
Submitted by Willy on Thu, 2018-04-26 19:30Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
Considering purchasing one of these https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/osborne-park/boat-accessories-parts/hydrofoil-se-sport-300-black/1126572794?utm_source=transactional&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=shared_ad
There are some big claims for such a simple device. Anyone have some opinions on them?
Cheers

Submitted by Stoinka on Wed, 2018-04-25 14:57Just wanted to see if any other members are using a drive on dry dock.
I am in the process of aquiring a pen for my 7m Assassin, but i am not interested in anti fouling the boat.
Just wanted to see if any other members are using a drive on dry dock in there pen.
Made one inquiry about a 6m x 3m model with Vee in middle of pontoon with rollers, cost $6500.
Who is the best to deal with W.A.
Thanks to anyone that can give me some advice.

Jurien Weather - 25th to 29th
Submitted by Darren253 on Sun, 2018-04-22 21:46Making a long weekend out of the Anzac Day public holiday and heading to Jurien Bay with the family on Wednesday afternoon...
I’m comfortable with my wind/chop limit in the Reefrunner but wanted some advice on the swell up there? I’d normally go out in below 2m of metro swell but i’m pretty confident around my reef areas/banks and areas to give a wide birth too.
Do I need any special concerns up there? At what point does it break over the south passage?
Any other tips also greatfully received!

Crayfish Industry
Submitted by Tom M on Sat, 2018-04-21 11:08Don't want to let the stories on the problems with Point Peron sewarge pipeline get to far away from readers.
Because to date I have yet to here any comments in regards to the crayfish that were presented on channel 10 report the other night and the potential impact to the export industry when news reaches Asian news outlets. I think it will make the live sheep export story pale insignificance. And for those that say it is only in the rockingham area, you only have to look at local rock melon market after deaths on the east coast to see how that cascaded.

Help wanted- stand alone bluetooth module for boat stereo?
Submitted by Quobbarockhopper on Sat, 2018-04-21 09:48Hey all
The stereo headset on the boat as died and im tossing up wether to replace the unit or not. I hardly listen to AM/FM (except footy season) so am really just after something to play tunes via Bluetooth through the speakers on the boat.
Not exactly sure what would work for this purpose, but Im guessing there must be some kind of Bluetooth module I can wire directly into the speakers and a power source without having to use an actual stereo headset? Basically after something that can just connect directly to the speakers and run Bluetooth through the phone/ ipod etc
Know I can probably get a UE2 speaker or something and just use that, but have a decent speaker system already on the boat so want to use them. There are a few things Ive found (like the fustion BT200 etc) but these all seem to need a stereo headset to run through, defeating the purpose.
Anyone know of anything that could do this?
Cheers in advance!

Submitted by Tom M on Sat, 2018-04-21 08:25Premier stated last night they are doing a lot to protect people in the water. He stated you can go onto Sharkwatch and identify where the tagged great whites are. As I said on an earlier post that I done this several hrs before the attacks because thay had publisised that they had now tagged 250 great whites, Site showed no Great Whites....................reasurring isn't it.

Broome boat ramps update
Submitted by RohanKok on Fri, 2018-04-20 10:27Hi all,
I am planning a trip to Broome later this year towing the boat (Bar Crusher 615 HT) and I am wondering what the boat ramps are like up there these days? I have never been to Broome before and I did a search on FW and most of the discussions are a few years old or more. I am no stranger to working out tides for launching and retrieving and I have a very capable 4WD. I am just hoping that by now there might be some convenient boating facilities in Broome?
Any update and advice is much appreciated.
Rohan.
