Wire trolling for macks
Submitted by ricey on Sun, 2013-03-10 17:57So if I decide I want to use wire , what wire leader is best and what length?
the premade ones I have are short (40 cm) and snap swivels look bit dodgy.
not super keen on own made ones as tried the weld type and was not sure it would hold? Want lure to swim true.
how many roll the dice and don't use wire at all?

Bit of everything all in one day.
Submitted by Chris fish on Sat, 2013-03-09 20:04Today's effort from Albany, lost of differnt styles covered with plenty of sambos and grouper around and some far to friendly sharks on a morning dive.
Went to chase some bream on the flats in waist deep water and hard bodies on 2lb and got about 30 bream in a few hours with a few fish pushing 40cm so not a bad effort for a novice and my second time fishing hard bodies.
Went and threw some lures in the arvo at some reefs and ended up with a few salmon smashing th on sunset so a very busy day with a lot of fun.

Crabbing tides
Submitted by Oracle on Sat, 2013-03-09 16:49Hi all,
Looking at going crabbing tomorrow and looking at the tides, it's a good start but flattens out to not much of anything later in the morning.
What's the thoughts with crabbing? Does the no run, no fun rule still apply in the river or do you think that without a big current ripping, the little blighters come out for dinner and look around more area?
Cheers

Ocean reef tomorrow help wanted
Submitted by Scaly Man Fish on Sat, 2013-03-09 14:45Hi all I don't often post up but would appreciate some help on where to go for a fish tomorrow .
I have fished little island some years ago for herring and skippy in my old dinghy.
I have a 4,5 Savage Surfari now with GPS and a sounder so I am more confident to head out a bit more .
The weather looks great so I am keen to try some deeper water.
I am not asking for exact spots as I'm sure they are well guarded but I only get out a few times a year at best so I am very respectful of over fishing an area.
Thanks to all those who help out
cheers coley

S-Bend at Easter
Submitted by Versus on Fri, 2013-03-08 17:27Gonna head up for the easter weekend, have never been in there, imagine it will be friggin busy like everywhere else. Will trawl through the search function in the next couple weeks, but just wanting any general tips or advice for where to go etc. Will be landbased with a Prado (the soccer-mum's 4x4 of choice). I'm thinking I'll try for Tailor and Mulla off the beach, have heard of snapper and Dhuis off the rocks?
Also if anyone else will be up there and wants to have a beer or fish then drop us a pm.

New Yakker
Submitted by PT on Fri, 2013-03-08 10:22Hey fellas, i've been keen to get into yak fishing for a while and I just picked up myself a lifetime angler 3 fishing kayak off gumtree (205kg carrying capacity, 2 seats)
Im new to this whole kayaking business but pretty damn keen and i was hoping for a bit of advice. I've done some river fishing with pretty slim pickings and im hoping to take it out into the ocean.
Can anyone tell me some good beginner spots in the ocean to paddle out from? Just somewhere where myself and maybe a mate can paddle out without having to worry about getting smashed the hell up by waves haha. I'm keen to catch anything, as long as there are plenty biting (except blowies) - its hard to get my mates or girlfiend into fishing when you float around for an hour without catching a thing haha
Anyway, much appreciated fellas.
Paul
