Submitted by Braxi on Thu, 2013-03-21 07:42I'm heading up the creek for a couple of nights to chase a barra before the water starts cooling off. Just wondering if anyone has been getting any lately... Got some new lures to try and a brand new cast net to get caught on some snags.

Yes Mandurah is firing!!!
Submitted by beachsoul on Thu, 2013-03-21 07:04Been having an absoloute ball with some quality fish on light tackle ( 6 lb).......where abouts is a major seceret........lost the biggest Sand or Yellowfin Whiting i have ever seen the other day........i reckon he was in the 40cms range.......but then went out and caught some NICE Tailor ( 45cm) and Skippy ( Up to 40cm) All were taken on Small poppers or minnows in crystal clear shallow water. It was such a buzz watching the whole fight....the bigger Skippy would try to reach snags and weed to escape......I should have taken some more pic,s but the fishing was too good....

Please help me hook up!
Submitted by artygunner on Wed, 2013-03-20 16:47And I'm talking about the fish, not ladies :)
Ok - so me and a mate are going to head out Friday night for a pretty big session of fishing. We both have rods that will handle sharks so we want to float a balloon out each and try and hook onto a shark if possible.
While we are waiting for that ever elusive bight we want to throw out some mulies for tailor or hit the bottom for some skippy (Pinkies would be nice but I know how difficult they are to get land based).
So my questions are;
1. What is the best bait for sharks? I am thinking whole mullet or any live bait that we might catch?
2. Does Woodman Point or ASI fish well these days? and is it safe to leave your car there?!
3. How about Mindarie Marina? Haven't heard of anyone catching sharks from there but you never know.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan

Getting Reels Serviced
Submitted by Noxious on Wed, 2013-03-20 09:09Hi
I have a couple reels that are in need of a service. I can't find the boxes for the life of me and don't have the spare washers etc.
Where is the best place around perth to get them serviced? Reels are a stradic ci4 2500 and a stradic 4000 (older gold model).
I don't mind NOR or SOR as long as they do a good job of them.
Cheers,
Alex

Just An Idea
Submitted by deepwater on Tue, 2013-03-19 22:39I was just reading one of the posts from the For Sale and some one had a problem with scammers
I was thinking, just maybe how about we make it that we have to have (100/200) posts before we can buy and Sell and swap ( this is just ME )
i don't want to cause any problems, this is just an idea. I want to see more people putting more into the site with pics, posts and comments good and bad to what we all are doing
Fishwrecked is getting bigger and better day by day and we all would be happier with out those people
This is just an idea
Jeff
Ps: Ads or any of our moderators if this is going to cause to many problem please delete it ASAP

Margaret River
Submitted by Chonga on Tue, 2013-03-19 17:14Hey guys been trawling these forums for awhile but this is my first post ^.^
Me and some mates are heading down to margaret river to do some rock climbing but I thought I'de probably wet a line at the same time.
Was just wondering what kinda fish species will be around the beaches, my first thoughts would be whiting, tailor, herring and skippy? If anyone could let me know if im on the right track would be great since I havent really fished around there before. Also would any beach produce? We're gonna be camping at Contos camp ground which has a few beaches near by that I could get to. Are there any other places which may be better keeping in mind that I probably wont hav 4wd access. Look fowarding to hearing back from you guys =D

Rod for Stella5000sw
Submitted by ross58 on Tue, 2013-03-19 09:49Hi guys,
I have been lucky enough to be given a Stella 5000sw as a farewell gift from work.
Awesome reel and fits into my range very well. (thanks to my son giving the necessary advise to my work colleagues).
Can anyone suggest a good one piece rod to suit. Want to be able to cast poppers, lure and plastics but also ok for bottom bouncing. Would think something around 61/2 to 7 foot?

5m ali boat. Where should I stay in Exmouth
Submitted by Boppo on Mon, 2013-03-18 17:31Heading up to Exxy in May and was wondering where should I be staying. Mate and I will have our wives in tow and they are thinking a house in the Marina , we are thinking a chalet around the lighthouse caravan park or Yardie caravan park. We have a 5m ali. Will be happy getting tuna and macks and not to bothered about bottom dwellers. Seems to be the go to launch on the western side and fish behind the reef but was wondering if there are many pelagics caught on the gulf side thus saving a fair hike with the boat each day if we lose out to the women. Just remember...'a happy wife is a happy life' ;-)

How too and Can you catch Crays in Exmouth ?
Submitted by Paul N on Mon, 2013-03-18 12:25I'm not a freediver or into crayfishing but one of the crew is ( coming from Sydney for the trip ) Heading to Exmouth in a couple of weeks and he wanted to know if we could drop a couple of pots for Crays . Told him I think there are only Painted Creys up that way and they don't go into pots ( not sure ). I have never seen any pots up there .
Am I correct in saying that ?, and the only way to get them is to dive and snare them ?
If you can snare them are they any good to eat ?
Cheers
Paul
