Fishing tips
Submitted by joycey on Mon, 2013-03-25 07:48Hi all,
Bit of a newbie to all this.
So far fishing out from Woodies in the 30-40m mark after five fathom bank.
Been drifting with paternoster without much success.
Do you recommend anchoring at this depth or carry on trying my luck drifting ?
Is this a good depth or do I need to head further out to deeper water.
Cheers for any tips...

Easter.....Why not just stay home and be safe?
Submitted by beachsoul on Mon, 2013-03-25 03:44Hmmmmmm Easter.........Most of the beaches are going to be chockers with people from all walks of life......to the point of being HECTIC and potentialy DANGEROUS.( Well anywhere where 4wds are allowed) The roads leading to said beaches are going to be chockers with impaitent people rushing to get to their holiday spots and then rushing to get home again........We all know that their are going to be numerous fatalities on the roads AGAIN.....The boat ramps are going to full of the types of tossers who cant tell the difference between the launch and retrevial lanes. Once on the water you will be risking life and limb from being mowed down unless you are in a BIG boat.......Jetskis will be buzzing around like a swarm of mozzies on steroids. How RELAXING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So why don,t you all just relax and stay home........do some home maintenance, gardening.....or like me.......im going to try and arrange some shifts at work. Then I can ENJOY a wonderful break after all the madness is over.

Fibreglass esky repairs
Submitted by Cruise Control on Sun, 2013-03-24 12:35Hey Guys
Ive got a 150 litre fibreglass esky where the hinges have come adrift from the body of the esky. I need some one who can repair the glass so that new hinges can be fitted. Im not that good with glass so therefore would like someone who could do a good repair job on it as it has a fairly active life.
Can anyone recommend a repairer who might be able to do this work for me ? Prefer Hills area or SOR

Nice productive day behind rotto
Submitted by eltaco on Sat, 2013-03-23 19:04

Couple of sundays ago we ventured out behind rotto around the 60-70m mark and had a nice southerly drift along the drop off and the day went well , plenty of skippy around then i caught a nice Dhuey on occy and had a livie on my top hook that was gone when i bought him up , then we got a nice baldy, kept drifting and things went a little quiet so would of been half hour down the track we headed up the drift to try go over the same patch when my mate scored a very nice dhu that had my livie in its guts. amazing how quick there stomach acids had already discoloured the yakka . Awsom day on the water stayed calm all day so nice ride home but still yet to see a mackie this year .

What's the beach launching like at .......
Submitted by Stoinka on Sat, 2013-03-23 14:15Ningaloo Station near the Shearers quarters???????
I launch my 4.8m quintrex at warroora every year with out drama, but you have to have all the right gear.
So would it be safe to say that the beach launching at the shearers quarters would be alot easier due to the angle of the beach and no dumpers on the shore.
Will be there at the start of May, and at Warroora at the start of June.
Thanks for any info given
Cheers

Newby to Jigging
Submitted by Poppy on Sat, 2013-03-23 12:45Hi guys and gals. I'm heading off in two weeks to enjoy a charter with Whitey out of Jurien. I have always used bait and Whitey generally catches live bait on the way out and I intend taking some Californian squid as well. I have never, ever used any sort of non-bait lure and will for the first time try out one or both of a pink Octo jig and a 150 gram metal. Are there any tricks to using them? I've watched a few vids and have a reasonable idea about the action required, but I'm a bit unsure of depths suitable for the two types. I guess the metal would be OK in deeper water, but what about the Octo? I feel a bit of concern about whether I should start out with bait and then change to jigs, or whether I should just plough into the jigs to start with. Are there any "Jurien Junkies" who can give me the benefit of experience? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
Cheers

No fillets... 2 broken rods, god knows how much tackle/lures/jigs gone the way of the noahs!!!
