Like most of us, I watch the weather all week to see if there is a slim chance that the wind gods will give us fishos a break on the weekend so we can participate in our passion; FISHING. Now seabreeze is probably one of the most used sites to determine if we head down to the tackle shop after work on the Friday to stock up on bait and gear and then dissapoint our partners by telling them we'll be heading out yet again for a fish instead of sitting home and spending it with them. So there is a lot riding on what seabreeze is telling us but most of all, our safety is at stake!

So how many times have you gotten all your gear ready, got your mates all up at the crack of dawn and headed out when seabreeze has looked like this and driven into gale force conditions thinking to yourself, here we go again - F#%k you seabreeze? 

The following two images are from BOM and Willyweather. All three images are for this weekend. So who has gotten it wrong? 

Now for me, I only have a very small tinny (not plate), and I will go out way past the FADS if the weather reports show it's going to be nice, so I'm putting a lot of faith in what I see on sites like seabreeze.

I think it's about time seabreeze fronts up and explains itself. They're not only messing with our safety, but they're messing with our free time which lets face it, we don't get much of these days.

BOM doesn't usually get it wrong but have been messing up a bit lately. I got smashed last Friday when their reports said it was all roses, I hope they haven't caught whatever bug seabreeze has.

Anyway thanks for putting up with my little winge, I hope everyone has a great day out fishing this weekend and let us know if the weather today was as per seabreezes predictions or as BOM and Willyweather predicted it. I think I'll try Sunday instead.

Has anyone launched their boat at grey lately??

Can be impossible to beach lauch up there sometimes with heaps of weed on the beach. Just dont want to drive all that way only to no be able to launch.

not sure if this weeks storms may have pushed the weed up on the beach.

I was out in Cockburn Sound last Saturday morning, with two kayak fishing mates before the sun rose. All three of us had 360 deg lights etc, and head torches as required by law.

A lot of boats were headed out from the Woodman Point boat ramp, but they all steered clear of us at a respectful distance.

One boat appeared from behind though, from the direction of Carnac Island, and proceeded to head straight towards me in the pre dawn gloom. I thought he was going to hit me, so pedalled like crazy, flashed my headlamp at them and prepared to dive overboard. Way too close he veered offcourse and the boat passed, 10 metres away, with all on board jeering and hollering. It was quite obvious that they saw me from some distance away and just decided to scare me. No different to a driver driving up onto a footpath, aiming at a pedestrian then swerving at the last moment for a joke.  It scared the crap out of me and I thought I was going to die.  If the skipper happens to be reading this, please stop acting like this, it is not funny to the guy who thinks he is about to die, and next time we will remember to write down the rego of your boat and report you to the police.

Thank you for letting me post this on fishwrecked.  I know the vast majority of boaties are respectful people and would be disgusted at this sort of behaviour.

OI slurp, get keen for a fish this saturday morning out at C&#T point

 Hey guys just looking to replace my certate 3500 and want to get a Stella but not to sure on what size to go, want to spool it with 20lb and will be using it for beach fishing and demersal jigging, there is nothing wrong with the certate and I want to keep to a reel around the same size jus want to try something new and unsure what way to go about it.

Hey guys just chasing some advice on a new 8ft spin combo, I want it for my second rod when beach fishing for tailor, I have a heap of 6ft spin combos, just chasing something a little bit longer matched up with about a 4000 size spinning reel,targeting tarwhine, skippy,whiting etc. not to concerned about the price range, any advice would be appreciated cheers.

No matter how hard I try I have been unable to get to the beach to check the weed situation before dark.  I'm going to go for a fish tonight and was wondering has anybody had a look after the storms and knows what the sea weed situation is like there?

does anyone know where i can get these knobs from that are suited to the saltist reels and how do i go about fitting them, as it looks to have a weird looking screw in there with no top on it to screw it out..

We have some good storm surf and have had for a week.  What's that going to do to the beaches such as Boranup and Hamelin and Deepdene?   Do I need to wait for it to settle out?

Hey guys if you had a Saltiga 6000 GT filled with 85 pound accudepth hyper pe braid on it what rod would you buy for it?

But the combo wont really be used for jigging it will be more for soft plastics, bottom bouncing maybe tralling, and even for un weight baits for sharks. i was thinking the S-extreme 56 xhfs saltiga rod just cause the two would match up. also other combos already owend are a terez 30-50 pound with a stella 5000 and 50 pound hyper pe. and a saltiga 4500 with 30 pound hyper pe on a pe 2-3 saltiga rod.

Btw this is just out of curiosity for a mate who just bought it and has those combos not for me :P. I suggested a smith rod like the nirari 55 but yeah what would you do?

hi guys, ( in response to a recent post abt WA fishso having a bad name)during a commercial break on a foxtel fishing show it had a ad for starlos new website. so i went to check it out.

what i found was fishos over east are posting photos of esky full of kingfish and a floor full of kgs n other fish. sure they are keeping within their limits, but it makes me think of when is the last time someone posted a photo of an esky full of sambos and big fish kills.

i think that our attitudes towards rec fishing is far more ahead than other states give us credit for. ive fished with heaps of people recently and not 1 is concerned about the amount of fish they kill, but rather just having a good day out.

ive even been on a boat recently when one of my mate got a 60cm plus dhuie, patted on the head and he said to the fish before releasing it ' go make more babies '.(this is after a dud session btw)

Was just wondering , besides stirring up a shedload of weed and eroding the dunes at the beach , what effect do you think the storms will have on the fish offshore ? Will it bring the snapper or dhu in a bit ? ( any ore than they already are ) or push them out ? Or do nothing ?

Just hoped off a plane from the east and resorted to an eastern states fishing magazine to read on the flight home.  read a couple of articles, one about squidding, which recommended daiwa esmeraldas md squid jigs and one about deep jigging for reef species (eg snapper) that recommended 'octo' jigs which are a weighted soft rubber covered jig that imitates an octopus or squid.  the author said that very little technique is required as the preferred movement is slowly across the bottom, with an occassional slow lift and drop back to the bottom.  The squid jig i reckon i'll find if a look in any decent tackle shop, but i haven't come across the latter (not that I have been looking).  anyone seen / used these?
