Hi everyone, my names Lachie, I'm 15 and I service fishing reels. I only do egg-beater style reels because that's the only type that I have been properly taught how to do. I do the new reels that need a touch up to keep them performing at their best, I do the old reliable reels that you want brought back to life or the second hand reels just bought, so that you get the best experience out of your new reel. I live in Rossmoyne (about 20 mins south of Perth on the canning river) and that is also where I do the servicing. Currently I charge $20 for each reel serviced and don't offer any discounts for servicing more than 1 reel because the price that I service for is very competitive already. I also don't replace parts because many parts can be hard to find and the shipping can be extremely costly. Also I will be away for the whole school holidays so therefor I will not be servicing reels then but I am open to any other time! Because of all my schoolwork and a generally busy lifestyle, it usually takes me about a week to complete 2 reels.

this job is something that I do instead of working at maccas or something so I put my best ability into every reel that I complete because it takes priority over everything except for exams!

G'day Friends,

Heading to Green head on Friday arvo with couple of mates.

Frist time fishing in the area, a general advise on where and what depths to look for will be much appreciated.

My boat is a coralline 5.8 ocean runner. Type of fishing will be bottom bouncing, mainly bait fishing.

Other mates with bigger boats venture out to 60's and 80 meter even further, but I am not confident being new to the area.

So asking for some local knowledge and tips please.

Note: I do get seasick on big rolling seas that's other reason not going too far.

 Hi just wondered if any members have used the black light/uv torches on their squid jigs or lures and if they recon it improves catch rates, as i,ve seen a few glow jigs and lures in the shops and like most fishoes love new toys.

yo gang, I saw on here a while ago, some bloke who was going to import some good quality vacuum seal/cryovac bags. he had to bulk-buy, to keep costs down, and wanted to know who was interested in getting some.

 hi everyone, just wondering if there is any chance of getting a spanyard while up at Lucky Bay this coming week? I know they are caught around Easter time and the weather is similar to then. i have the gear to get them but won't be targeting them, just hoping to get one as an accident while tailor fishing which isn't too reliable .

Hi guys. not fishing related but nautical themed. just built a new deck/patio and putting up big bits of trellis as wind breaks,to break it up a bit I was going to insert some wrought iron screens/infills with afish or nautical theme,just wondering if anybody knows or has got mates that do that sort of stuff.cheers Mark

Im looking to put together a 50lb bottom bashing, tuna trolling outfit and was curious if anyone is using the Daiwa Saltist Nero 4500, thoughts etc? I dont use 50lb much so dont want to spend a lot of $$. Just after a good quality workhorse that will be nice to use and do the job. I'll likely be matching it to a 50lb Hiramasa rod or similar. Any thoughts appreciated, cheers!!

 My iPad ended up with a smashed screen yesterday while out fishing in the boat. Has anyone had any issues claiming items like that through Club Marine?

 So a friend knows someone who owns a trailer in shark bay. They gave me some real top quality fish, it was probably put in an ice bath, filleted then strucked to perth.

Now I've caught whiting, snapper and dhufish myself. I bleed all my fish and eat them fish. But this fish was probably a week fresh and it was the best tasting fish I'd ever eaten. I think it was a snapper species, but anyways, does freezing for a bit improve the taste?

 Evening people,

for the last two days i have been testing my light gear to catch some small fish.

i have made up a running sinker rig with a long shank hook and two of those red fluoro plastic beads on it.

Using Gulp! Camo 2" worms and i seem to have a LOT of nibbles, wich is asome, but the amount of nibbles and hook ups are very different. If the hook up rate was close to the nibble rate i would have had a whole freezer full of em.

i am using gamakatsu long shank #10.

is there something i got/doing wrong here, or are the just hard to hook up?

I have a FARINA fuel sender that has given up the game. Can anybody tell me where I might get a replacement from in WA if possible.
It is the type that has a pivoting arm with a float attached coming of a plastic body that has a resistor wiring within the plastic body.
It's from a quinine ocean sport with a 120 lte tank.

About to begin constructing my first live well for my Pro angler kayak. 

Although there is alot information that i have not been able to find on how to begin 

For the base of it ill be using ur standard esky. is a full pump system needed? and if so how do i go about this. or can i get away with just simple aireation through a small battery powered air pump.

After picking up the new 660 assassin from Exmouth the other week we finally got a break in the weather to get out,took my cousin and a mate for a run an managed a nice little mixed bag yesterday off Bunbury with a nice little surprise being the baldy! Absoulty stoked with the new boat. Was all done an dusted by 9am.

Anyone know cheap service person or someone that knows what their doing for a carton, not expensive reels so don't want to pay a fortune, cheers brian

You’re log sheets are in, the data has been analysed and we’re dying to show you what’s been happening in each of your crab fisheries this season.

We’re hosting our annual True Blue Swimmer Supporter seminars from the 22nd – 24th of Sept, so come along to the venue nearest you and find out how your crabbing efforts compare in your fishery.

The dates & locations for the seminars are:

• Swan-Canning Estuary: Tuesday 22nd September, 6:30-8pm, West Australian Fisheries Marine Research Laboratories, 39 Northside Drive, Hillarys.

• Leschenault Estuary and wider Bunbury area: Wednesday 23rd September, 6-7:30pm, Dolphin Discovery Centre, Lot 830 Koombana Drive, Bunbury.

• Geographe Bay: Thursday 24th September, 6-7:30pm, The Deck, 21 Spinnaker Boulevard, Port Geographe, Busselton.

We’ll also be talking about the Fishery Independent Sampling that we’ve been carrying out alongside the True Blue Swimmer supporter logbook program. You’ll be able to find out the how breeding stocks and recruitment levels are doing within each of your fisheries and how they compare to last season’s data.

You’ll also learn about our current tagging study in the Swan River that some of you have had the opportunity to participate on. We’ll talk about the results so far and what a successful tagging study could lead to in terms of the better understanding of crab stock movement in and around these fisheries.

You are all more than welcome and we very much look forward to catching up and chewing the fat over all things crab! These seminars are also a good place to sign up to the program so if you know of anyone who is a keen crabber and would like to join our program then bring them along too!

I just heard from 2 mates listening to 882 6pr, that fisheries are halving rec cray limits!

I cant yet find anything on line though. can anyone confirm this??

if it is true, I may hang up the tanks this year. it almost wont be worth going for 4 crays each. I'm also wondering on how they are basing their actions, as history has proven that they cant calculate cray predictions like they think they can.
