I am sure a lot of people may already visit this site, but it may be of use to some new members.
I know that I use it a lot to see what the conditions are like at some of the spots around town.
Unfortunately today some of the cameras look like they may have been knocked out by the strong winds.

Dont know if anyone else is having the same problem , but i found recently when drifting along i could zoom in and ramp up the sensitivity to around 70/80% and had good readings, as soon as my motor started and revved higher than 1400 rpm the screen would black out with interference and cover the fish and i would have to cut back the sensitivity to 30 % and then show no fish, as shown on the picture above coming up a bomie in 65mts the sounder shows fish and good bottom as i rev the motor to 15/1600 revs to move the boat into a better drift i got inteference,   after a lot of trial and error i found the transducer was getting sound /noise interfernce from the prop and i had to get the transducer more than a mt away before it dropped of to allow to sounder to work clearly and works well even at 20 + knots , i will be installing a through the hull transducer 1200 mm infront of the motor to resolve the problem

After seeing that the weather looked pretty nice on saturday night i decided to give the pinkies a crack in the sound. Got out at about 4pm and seen about 30 odd boats group together including the pro snapper boat so i got my hopes up. Sounded around the boats for about an hour but no schools to be seen :(. Went over to CBH for a crack anchored and waited around for about 2 hours without a sniff but wasnt going to give up so out to the D9 it was and sat on that from 7pm until 2 without a bite and decided to call it a night so in with the lines and hit the hay. Woke up at 5 and sounded around for another 2 hours and still no schools so very dissapointed and tired i went home. Slept from 10 until 5 then got a call from my mate saying hes going to have a crack for some pinkies of the beach and i couldnt resist so set the gear back up and left at 6:30 to a beach somewhere between rockingham and mandurah ;). The wind was howling the moon and tides were right so we were looking pretty good to get one although i did say that the night before aswell. After a few hours and a lot of seaweed finally got a hookup after a really weak fight that only took about 5m of line a big pink head came through the little breakers and i knew ide finally got one. My mate leadered him up on to the beach measured 90cm and 9kg took a whole scaly mackeral. Stayed for another few hours but no more interest. Its my first pinkie for the season and my first decent fish off the beach.

heys guys i was thinking off heading down to dongara or there abouts or further north i have a 15ft runabout just wondering where would be a good place to go as i prefer to fish for bigger stuff any ideas ?????? is there much @ dongara?

Its travel time, my girlfriend and i are really starting to think about having a road trip and driving up north maybe to the kimnerleys or as far as we can get...haha..we have a few limitations, like not having a 4x4..so i would like some recomendations on places to put a boat in where a normal ute can go..

there is a few places we would love to go..Exmouth...Port Headland..Geralton...Shark bay/monkey mia...If we have time get time and money get to Broome and Derby...and hopefully darwin but thats a long shot...

When does the wet season start?? any chances of cyclones etc:

Can i safely launch my boat in these areas without a 4x4?

Safest waters for a 4.9MT boat..

Any good camping spots as we tenting it all the way..

what to expect to catch through these areas...and the best way to fish these areas, bottom bash or troll lures etc:

were wanting to take 2 months or so to do it...allot of my friends are saying to get a 4x4 but if we do that'll cut our trip down allot it says us spending more cash than we have to ..any onther places that we should visit? thanks for any advice cheers chrisitan

no idea how to use this, I was just wondering if anyone could give me the co ordinates for the barges. I neglected to write this down when I sold my last boat and hadnt had a crack at the Sambos, thinking that if they close down the fishing for two months this might be a good option. Any help would be appreciated.

Just interested know how many people have caught a Dhu landbased? I know my old man has caught a few back in the day, the best being a 20kg+ fish that was set free by the flying gaff snapping the line, only to float for the next 15 mins whilst my dad casted a sinker and set of gang hooks over it to try snag it, last cast before it was out of range and he got it and they landed it! Great effort, won the fish of the week in the west australia probably 15 years ago.. haha.. may have to try dig up the photo sometime.

My mate and I are keen to make a landbased Dhu capture and was just wondering if many others have done it? We have a few good spots down south sourced from the old man that we will try when the weather is better but may have to wait till they head in closer.. what time of the year do they seem to be in shallower? I've heard late autum is good? A decant Dhuie from the rocks would be a great achievement I think.

Anyone have any info on a lemax black rose 70mhfs2??? I think its 7ft rated at 10-25lb which is quite a fair range.

It looks as though we have had a win in regards to our complaints about the new fishing rules.  The proposed rules have been greatly modified, and I would think that most people will see the new proposals as being fair and even necessary.  Here are the key elements.

This has been bandied about with a few people since the announcement of the Demersal/Boat fishing licenses and was curious about others thoughts.

According to the Regulations:-

"The holder of a Commercial Fishing license must not hold a Recreational Fishing License relatiing to rock lobster, abalone or net fishing (See regulations 123 and 124)."

Now that there is going to be a recreational boat fishing license could it/ would it or should it be added to the list of Recreational licenses that commercials cant hold remembering that Commercial Fishing licenses are "required by persons who engage in commercial fishing (such as Masters and crew of licensed fishing boats).

Been looking at the spheros and saragosa (14000 or 18000). what's the main difference bewteen the two and is the extra $$$ for the saragosa justified?

Hi everyone. I am thinking of heading up to Denham in the next couple of weeks. Can someone tell me what to expect (in terms of fishing). Also is it worth going even if i dont have a 4wd or a boat and do the different sanctuary zones inhibit access to good land based fishing spots.

Just dropped into CPBA to see if the ramps would be ready for the weekend.....

The guys were just forming up the new footing block ready for a concrete pour on Monday.

They advised Monday pour on ramp 1, strip down possibly on Wednesday and start forming up for ramp 2.....

If lucky, maybe the ramps will be partially open end of next week.

caught this a few years ago in karatha on the way back in after a days fishing. it had a strange jaw structure where it it opened from the top of the head and rotated pretty much 180 degrees with sharp teeth. can anyone identify it for me.
