Jigging session this Thursday
Submitted by artygunner on Tue, 2013-09-03 12:12Hi,
The weather looks sweet on Thursday and I thought I'd ask if any of the jiggers out there are thinking of making a trip out? I am in desperate need of advice and a little lesson when it comes to jigging.. basically, I SUCK! also pretty shit on SPs too!
If there is anyone going out that wouldn't mind me tagging along and asking a few questions that would be great. Obviously pay my share etc...
Please PM me.

whale pingers alarms
Submitted by uncle on Tue, 2013-09-03 08:08caught the back end of a show last night abc, in queensland they have developed these electronic pingers to put on large fish nets to warn whales that they are swimming into them, works well and they are trialling them on cray pots, worrying part was they said whales are increasing 10% each year, so in about 9 years they will double in number, now thats a big concern for the ocean and sustianability

Savage gear 4play
Submitted by Jules on Mon, 2013-09-02 21:47Has anyone tried the savage gear 4play hardbody lures? I'm thinking of buying a few for fishing golden bay /Secret harbour for tailor and maybe a few soapies. I just spoke to a guy in a uk tackle shop who says they are good for sea bass in medium surf so they should be ok here? I was also thinking fishy areas like the ocean end of the cut. They come in different fishing depths like other hardbody lures but the swimming action is something else.
Any advice would be welcome, cheers
melbourne football club the team i played for
Submitted by petermac on Mon, 2013-09-02 20:19it brings tears to my eyes knowing they would have been on mad Monday today , the whole team underachieved , every single one of the players need a good look at them self's getting big bucks and not producing , didn't help the coach for most of the season wouldn't inspire me to run thru a wet tissue . Next week they will go on the end of season trip to Phuket and have a good time if it was up to me training would have started yesterday ( sorry all you Melbourne supporters out there but that is how I have saw the season) big Jim must be watching down and cursing RIP Jim

Port Coogee Marina?
Submitted by buschy on Mon, 2013-09-02 12:43Hi all,
I've been hitting up Port Coogee for a couple of years now, without any real luck. Manage to get the odd flatty from time to time, and fish the obvious spots along the wall but rarely get into anything other than trumpeter or small tarwhine.
I've burleyed hard, been out in the storms for snapper, flicked small baits, float fished - all techniques that get me into B&B fish elsewhere.
Just wondering if anyone else on here fishes the spot regularly and whether they have better luck? Or is it simply not producing?
Have been spoilt in recent years, spending so much time between Cervantes & Dongara LB.....getting frustrated with metro fishing!
Cheers
Buschy

Soft Plastic
Submitted by jayce on Sun, 2013-09-01 19:50Hi all
Just chasing some advice on what knot you all use to tie your jig heads on for soft plastics?
For my jigs i use the AG Chain knot. I see a few people use the loop knot ( not sure of name ) for plastics is this better or should i just use a normal knot for jig heads. Mainly using Nitro Elavator heads.
Cheers Jayce

Sambo spots
Submitted by Paul_86 on Sun, 2013-09-01 18:27G'day all.
I know asking for fishing spots is prett taboo, but I'm looking for a spot or two to jig for some sambos in the metro area. I don't get offshore very often due to work and having a small boat but got a few mates that don't fish much and a load of jigging gear that has never seen water so very keen to get out there and stretch some virgin arms and test some light gear.
So if anyone out there is willing to point me in the rite direction or give me some co ords then I'd be happy to reward them with some inshore snapper spots out from hillaries or a carton :) depending on how generous they are.
Failing that, we will just head out from hillaries into the 40's and cross the fingers and watch the sounder.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers Paul

chinamans greenbacks
Submitted by tangles on Sat, 2013-08-31 21:05with the swell jacking thought a quick dusk session down at chinnies be the go for some tailor n mullas.
after a quick drama getting tangled up with a couple guys i moved to my little rock out of the way. first cast and the greenies were on. every cast had a hookup and the inevidable aerials from the tailor lost 4. landed and kep 2 nice greenies and back home by 8pm! left them biting and an empty chinamans in the end! tailor are a bit annoying when they are hot like they were especially when you want a mulla! both went 75cms stretch limos. good fun n a good feed!
sorry bout the side shot!
