(Dave(y)) Miracles DO Happen
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Sun, 2009-04-26 16:15Dave(y) telephoned me today. Twice in fact! Understandably (and I know you do) I thought IMMEDIATELY that Dave needed (yet more) fishing advice. (Lets face it, he needs all the advice he can get!)
Imagine my suprise, that, when I bestowed him with a phone call me from me, he actually advised him and Ron had ACTUALLY (
) caught some fish! Without even my help. My goodness, they must have been desperate.
The story goes that Ron and Dave caught some thumper salmon - they were leeping out of the water!
OH DAVE, how much did you pay for someone to load up the lines?

Large Steel Workbench for Sale 3000x900
Submitted by UncutTriggerInWA on Sun, 2009-04-26 10:09I have a very large steel workbench in my garage and it's giving me the shits. I need to move it so I can put some decent racking on the walls in there and tidy things up (so I can find my fishing gear).
The bench is ideal for a shed or workshop. It has a vice mount. It's quite heavy and would need a trailer or something similar to move it.
I don't know what it's worth but am open to any offers. If I get anything for it it will go toward my shelving.
Any of you guys interested?

ANZAC Weekend Fishing Plans?
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Sat, 2009-04-25 11:48What's everyone's plans for this weekend?
I know after speeking to Dave(y) last night he's going out tomorrow and, after some serious grovelling (ay Dave?
), I've been able to accept Dave's very kind invitation to go out on Monday. As Dave mentioned in our telephone calls last night, the forcast looks great (no, I've learned my lesson - no image post of Sea Breeze this time
). Sandra may go along as well. Then Dave will have two people to teach him how to fish
.
Looking forward to seeing and being on the new (other) boat Dave!
I have a fresh supply of new NON OFSET hooks for the troling skirts (Gama and VMC Live Baits). I'm also going to try out some Owner Crane Ovako Swivels for some new paternosta rigs.
Roll on Monday!
OH RUSS - Will make sure I take some pics this time!

Dam u not Got One
Submitted by synthos on Sat, 2009-04-25 11:02I htink I might boycott Gotone, he placed an evil spell on me as I purchased my bait, he said Hi Dirk of to feed the fishies ? How evil is that ? so yesterday I got heaps of bites and hokups and everything was lost ??? Could it be lack of skill, size of hock or even me ? nahh I am blaming that voodo they placed on me. Oh well wicked day on the water and the fish had to work a little for a feed but they were well fed on squid at the end of the day.

Dirk Hartog Island
Submitted by TJ on Fri, 2009-04-24 07:51Hi there.
I'm heading up to Dirk Hartog Island in June to stay on the island for about a week. Has anyone fished it before, and can offer some advice. I'm taking up an 8 foot Ugly Stick, 6-8.5kg, with a Penn SS8500 loaded with 15kg mono. Also taking a Live Fibre 7 foot, 8-10kg rod. I've got a Penn SS6500, with either 10 or 15kg on there, not sure yet.
Loaded up with all the usual lures, shallow swimming lures, metal slices, poppers, leadhead jigs and SP's.
We are staying at "The Block", so I am assuming there will be mainly cliff fishing (yes, we have a cliff gaff), but not far from Turtle Bay either, so I'd say those are the two spots we'll be fishing.
Any advice or tips would be great.
Cheers
TJ

Fishing saturday for salmon - dunsborough
Submitted by Johnyy_Boii on Thu, 2009-04-23 21:16
hey guys im new here
tomorrow afternoon im going down to dunsborough and im going to try my luck and try catch a salmon, i went last week and hooked one up but my line got tangled around my reel and lost it, 2 other friends managed to hook them up and they were 79 and 82cm. I will be fishing all day saturday and hope to catch some, i will post pics!
Now i need a little bit of advice, im only 15 and have only been fishing for a few months now so dont know too much and this will be the biggest fish ive ever caught if i do get one.
I was wondering what lure I should use? last time i used a metal twisty one..should i use that again or should i try some gangs and a mulie? Also the rod and reel im using is a 10ft silstar rod with a penn slamer reel and 300m of 20lb line, but the line is really thin...the guy said it was equivalent to a 12lb line but its as stong as 20lb..will this be enough?
any advice will be great
cheers Johny.

Busso Advice
Submitted by GusG on Thu, 2009-04-23 15:55I am heading to Busselton for the weekend and need a bit of advice. I have a 3.7m tinnie with a 15hp on the back and was wondering if the area out the front of Busso is safe enough to take that out there or does it get decent swell running in there? Also if I do take it out what sort of fish can you catch down there?
I was also going to take some land based gear and chase some salmon. Thanks for any help dudes, much appreciated.
