Filthy thieving pricks
Submitted by AlwaysFishin on Sat, 2012-06-02 08:13Woke up this morning and went outside to find the back of my hilux open and my rods and reels gone. What the hell is going on with this place? What happened to working hard to pay for your toys? Dirty filthy thieving good for nothing scumbag pricks. I hope the smack you sell them for gives you an overdose.
So they took a 10 ft daiwa sensor surf with an 8000 fi stradic loaded with 30lb daiwa tournament braid, which is bright green. Also taken was a shimano big baitrunner lc loaded with 50 lb braid, which is multicolored.
I know it's a long shot, but if anyone notices these around can you please let me know.

Dunsborough fishing
Submitted by donlovesfishing on Sat, 2012-06-02 00:23Hi all.
I am heading down to Dunsborough next Tues and Wednesday and was wondering if anyone has a spot on their boat for me. I will eventually be moving down to yallingup in the next few months permanently. Would love to catchup with some crazy keen fishers just like myself. I love my fishing but haven't had an abundance of success but it's not due to lack of trying or love for fishing. Myself and Mella_77, regularly and his a Gun and fishing.. Lol. Anyway I have met Dave from Dunsborough fishing shop and his a great guy with loads of fishing knowledge and kindness. Here's to hopefully meeting new fishing friends... Cheers Don

Dunsborough
Submitted by tim-o on Fri, 2012-06-01 17:54Headn down to Dunny this weekend and plannin on takin me 15ft runabout. Just hopin to get some local insight. The coast line obviously differs to Perth's west facing coast so with this weekends forecast will I still have options to get out? And most importantly what those options might be, any salmon around? Any help would be great, if the weathers not on for the boat, Ill just leave it at home and hit up some shore based spots. Cheers

What is your favorite jig?
Submitted by AlwaysFishin on Fri, 2012-06-01 14:29I'm leaning towards giving bait the flick and using artificials. Got the plastics sorted but really have no idea about the jigs. So the heading pretty much says it all - what is your favorite jig?

beginner in Exmouth
Submitted by Dorado21 on Fri, 2012-06-01 12:45Hi guys,
im heading up to Exmouth for the first time in July.
ill be just doing land based fishing (no boats) and wondering if i could get some pointers on what sort of gear to take up there (rods/reels/lines/lures/etc)?
heavy gear surf rods with heavy braid line? lighter outfits with lighter line? bait/lures/softplastics/etc?
can anyone share what outfits have worked for them in Exmouth?
think the species i would be aiming for are GT's, queenies, snapper, bonefish, bluebone, etc
any info would be much appreciated.
cheers

Jurien & Mackies
Submitted by RMac on Fri, 2012-06-01 11:11Hey Guys,
I'm heading up to Jurien for the long weekend and was wondering whether it is worth packing the trolling gear? Thinking the mackies may have moved north but i still hear whispers of them caught around rotto. I guess if the mackies aren't around there may still be some tuna?
Cheers

Find it amusing
Submitted by kane on Fri, 2012-06-01 08:46Firstly - Let me make this very clear, Im not having a go at anyone or any single person, and I absolutely encourage everyone putting up photos of their pride and joy, whether it be tackle or catches, this is simply an observation I have that i find amusing...
So...does anyone else think its funny that someone puts a photo up of a decent fish and he might get, well lets say on average 4-8 comments.... someone puts up a photo of a shit load of lures, jigs or tackle and the comments sky rocket
Reckon its a good example of the old saying about lures catching more fisherman than fish

What a disgrace
Submitted by GusG on Thu, 2012-05-31 18:41Apparently the labor Gov has done the lowest act ever in back flipping on a deal that they said they would never allow - the Venezuelan Fishing Purse seining fleet to come into our waters and deplete our oceans. But low and behold the Labor Gov has signed off on the deal to the Venezuelan Govt allowing them to send X amount of Purse seine boats this way and deplete our Southern Oceans. But wait for it...............The Labor Govt has signed off that each boat are allowed 64 tonne of fish per day and this ain't this worst thing, the fish that they slaughter will not be used as food but in fact be sent to Asia to used as food for the Asian fish farms. WTF!!!!
The worst thing also is that the Govt has pulled the report from file and there is nothing that can be done about it now, so the Venezuelan Purse seine fleet will be fishing the East Coast right around to the West Coast of Australia. Report is apparently not available freely yet but has been leaked. We really need to kick up a stink about this!!!!!

Western Rock Blackfish
Submitted by extinctary on Thu, 2012-05-31 15:05Hi,
I am after some info on the Western Rock Blackfish. In the Australian Fish Guide, by Frank Prokop, there are 2 Drummer listed, a black and siver . I already know that the Silver Drummer (Kyphosus Sydneyanus) also known as Buffalo Bream, is found in WA. But I am interested in the Black Drummer, also known as Rock Blackfish . In the fish guide there are a Eastern (Girella elevata) and Western variety (Girella tephraeops) . I was hoping for someone to confirm the existence of the Western variety, I enquired at the local tackle shop and they said that there was no such thing. Over east they have quite a cult following yet over in WA noone seems to target them. If anyone has any info I would be keen to find out.
Cheers

Submitted by mucsavage on Thu, 2012-05-31 11:15Hi all,
A few friends and I with our Partners, are thinking of heading down a few hours south of Perth (between Manduarh and bunbury) in a couple of weeks.
I am just wanting your educated information relating to the areas down south that has a number of things such as the list below:
Can you please fill me in on:
(1)Location to go (rivers/dams/streams) for redfin or trout
(2)Camping (near by)
(3)Fishing either rivers or dams
(4)Best type of bait or lure/rig that you would suggest trying.
(5)Speicies of fish that are on the hunt this time of year
Any info or advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks all. Look forward to hearing from you.
PM's also accepted if you dont want to disclose any details to the wide public. I will respect your infomtion.

Submitted by DhuieJ on Thu, 2012-05-31 10:04Just want to put a big thankyou to Paul G and Jesse for time and effort they put in for the sale of "relisa". Nothing seemed to be to much trouble and it was greatly appreciated, I couldnt be more happier with my purchase and am looking forward to some good times with the new tub, just hope it catches half the fish it did for Paul.
