Do i need a heat gun to soften the glue first & then just "pull" like a mad man ?

coral bay seabed shots
Submitted by crano on Sun, 2020-06-28 14:51These are a few screenshots from my lowance sounder with a drop camera running through it. They are very crappy shots but they give you an idea of what is there. They are in around 65m and when I took them we had just got a couple of reds that filled our bag limit. Believe it or not the sounder screen was going off here and a mate caught another 3 reds about 30m away while I was mucking around with the camera. This is the only time I have actually seen rock or reef up there, usually just sand with a few sponges and things. It is amazing just how little ground there is and you do not see much fish except triggerfish leatherjackets, small sharks and other small unknown thing and shitloads of bait type fish. In one of the shots you can see the bait which is bigger than you normally see.

Marine Traffic
Submitted by Bluetonic on Sun, 2020-06-28 11:14Was looking at Marine Traffic and noticed all the fishing vessels (Shown on here in the light orangey brown colour) operating out from Perth. Anyone know what they would be fishing for? They're a long way out to sea.

Submitted by S.Cotchin on Fri, 2020-06-26 23:16fellow fishos,
i havnt been on here for a while.
im in the mix of off loading my beloved trailcraft, that i have had for 8 odd years.
i dont really know what source of advetizing is the best to sell a boat ?
but hear is a brief description,
ive spent a lot of money on it customizing it over the years. and it has always been looked after.
595 center cab
hull is 2005. with 2 x 60 HP merch 4 stroke EFI that dont miss a beat.
same year trailer that has had all new breaks bearings etc..
the boat itself , there is too much to list . comes with everyhting you need.
fully set up for fishing and crayfishing capstan and tipper , also massive fuel tank that can get you any where - fads and beyond.
great river boat too. or up north EXY easy reach murion islands for the day fishing and beyond from exmouth marina or across the gulf and back. this thing doesnt runout out of fuel.
this is a great fishing boat but my young family is getting a bit older and they are ready to hit the ocean. Im in the need of something a bit more comforting for the 2 x young girls and my wife, oh yer and something i can still fish off
my boat is going up for sale and i dont believe there is too many of these around . appreciate your comments on what you think it is worth, or if there is any interested buyers on here happy to make an offer ?

Wind knots
Submitted by Livewire on Fri, 2020-06-26 14:50After trying many different approaches too fix or at least reduce the amount of wind knots I've been getting. I came across a fix on you tube. (Silicone spray) I was sceptical, but it works a treat. The line comes off smooth as silk, better distances and maintains the colour of your braid too. A small spray and it's all good. I've used it on my expensive heavy stuff too for good results . Hope this helps.

Looking for.....
Submitted by karlos 22 on Fri, 2020-06-26 14:17Looking for an address for a bloke named Johno (Crawford Brandon Johno)
Me and a few mates need to have a chat to him regarding $40k worth of fishing and camping gear stolen from my place on Friday 6th March 2020.
Some of the items were last seen being loaded into his Silver Patrol by himself and a mate.
Was told to leave to police but they have stuffed it so I'm fairly sure me and some mates will be able to get him to recall where the goods are.
He was warned on messenger but has ignored it.
If anyone know his address I beleive it is in the Coogee or surrounding areas you could please PM it to me.
Thanks

Best Reels you can get now??
Submitted by crasny1 on Thu, 2020-06-25 07:53I used to love the reports on the current "market" leader or best reels we used to get routinely on this site.
But havent had anything I have noticed for ages.
I mostly use spin reels and still have a very good functioning Stella SW 8000 but would hardly use that down here in Mandurah, but it got a hammering in karratha.
Now using Shimano Stradic CI4's in a range of sizes for offshore Demersal, Whiting and YF Whiting flats lure fishing.
Just would love to here some critique on the types again.

Sandy Point - Warroora Station advice for tinny
Submitted by Cjsurf on Wed, 2020-06-24 16:06Hi all,
Done some searching but after a bit more specific advice regarding trolling, lure selection etc for upcoming trip.
What size/depth lures work best for tuna and macks up there? How far out do i need to go behind the reef for some decent demersals and what placcys/jigs work best(obviously not in the sanctuary). Will just be me and the misses in a 4.6 CC and never taken a boat before so want to be somewhat conservative in where i go..
Any other tips please let me know! Hopefully be able to reach the surf this time with a boat too!
Cheers Legends

water in boat
Submitted by mikeurnot on Wed, 2020-06-24 12:28
Hi Have a Barron Sportsman and have a pod attached to the back . My question is during lay over in winter the boat fills up with water .
There where bung holes under boat but someone has filled them in . Should I put in new bungs and does this help over winter months ?
Noticed the the pod on the back has one bung hole under it . I close it when I am at sea is this right ?
Read on some sites that the pod should fill with water . Confused as to why ?
Any help ?
Cheers

Illegal crabbing - undersize crabs in the Swan river
Submitted by perth fisher on Tue, 2020-06-23 09:45In case you go for walks around parts of the river at night, there are a lot of people targeting undersize crabs at present . Many are wading in the river with torches at night in the shallows , some are at the jetties. I've contacted fisheries a couple of times, plus taken photos of them, and their cars. I've warned some after taking pics , so they put them back..
I think crabs are breeding now , so moving around ....bloody annoying people going for so many tiny crabs

Road North
Submitted by Deckie on Mon, 2020-06-22 09:29Hi folks. Does anyone have any info on the roads north to Dongara.
I have heard there are road works on both the Indian Ocean road and Brand Highway.
We are heading up there in a few weeks and contemplating taking Brand Highway to avoid all the impatient idiots that use the coast road.
Can you tell me/us, which road has the least works going on and if the brand is a better choice.
Thanks again in advance for your help.
Cheers.

Submitted by bradz on Sat, 2020-06-20 12:10Hey guys
I've not fished Cockburn sound since I was a kid. Thinking of taking the kids squidding tomorrow in the boat but just want a tip as to where to try. Parmelia bank side or more towards Rockingham.
Any help is appreciated as the squidding near my local ramp at hillarys can be pretty slow going.

Not sure where to go heading South
Submitted by captain 1 eye on Fri, 2020-06-19 09:07We are leaving Perth on the 25th heading East but first we want to have a fish ,it dosnt matter in the river or the Sea.I am seeing swell reports of huge conditions so Im thinking the sea is not a good option.Dads in his 80s and he will be happy caching a feed on an Estuary somewhere. There is a slight problem he does not want to go any further South than Busso .We had booked for Binningup but as the options there are limited, and i read in another site the weed is covered the beach .So any spots where its close to an estuary and van park will be awesome please .

Weather Friday
Submitted by Sea goat on Thu, 2020-06-18 11:30Hey guys. What are people's opinions about tomorrow's weather? I have the day off and was thinking about maybe going out from Hillarys and fishing within the 3 mile to see if any snapper around. Wind looks ok, but a fair bit of swell early on. Seabreeze saying 2.7, and willyweathet up to 3m. Normally wouldn't even consider with that sort of swell, but given the wind reckon it may b ok??
