sat 4th may my pre wedding day fish
Submitted by mako magic on Wed, 2013-05-08 15:39Well with so much happening and my family coming over for my wedding on sunday and my brother desperately wanting to have a fish, the plan was for the Friday. however a few very unexpected injuries before hand resulting in my step daughter needing plastic surgery to her ear because of a hungry horse deciding to take a little nibble, the fishing trip looked like not happening.
However some juggling of plans and extra long hard hours setting up for the wedding meant I was able to finally get the boat out on the Saturday morning. Plan was to head out to the fads to get some dollies then have a bottom fish, so launched rockingham at around 6:30 and found conditions pretty good so a shoot out to FSC fad was the go. Got about a km away and set up for the troll and tuna everywhere stripies and little SB everywhere, 4 way hook ups etc, great start to the day.
Get going again get just past the fad and bang 3 way hook up on dollies, boated a few there up to around 100 odd cm until a boat came along and the divers jump in, thank you very much see you later !! Plan was to head back closer to shore and have a bottom fish in around 40 odd meters. First spot was basically a dummy drift to set up and work out what way we were going, once that was established, the next drip was set up . lines down, few pickers then I feel a tell tale dhuie having a go at my bait, send back a bit of line then back im on, good fish too, get him up, down he goes, this went on for a good few mins until I could feel him tire a little, arms feeling it and legs shaking knowing this is a good fish we wait for colour and what a sight, up at the back of the boat a horse dhuie comes up floating, into the net and on board, and cheers all around, this was to be my biggest to date at 18.7kg and the day before my wedding to just top off a great weekend.
Picked up another few dhuies also for the day and ended up keeping on the boat for the day a few tuna, 3 dollies to feed everyone that night and 2 dhuies 1 at 18.7kg and the other around 8-9kg, so extremely happy and back at the ramp at 1:30. not a bad day

Hamelin Bayimages and rays video
Submitted by tailor marc on Sun, 2013-05-05 16:13Just got back from a nice little sting down hamelin bay. Went mainly to get more stock images to sell but couldnt resist baitcasting some mulies for salmon. Unfortunatly only the pros got a few. I had the go pro 3 black on me and i walked down the beach to get away from the rays but they followed. Made for some good footage. Dont worry, i didnt hook one) gave fishing away when they rolled up. Did get in trouble from the ranger for patteng them lol. Got warned how dangerous they are. Like i didnt already know. Anyway here is some images and the video.. Enjoy....

Montes Mayhem
Submitted by scere_182 on Fri, 2013-04-19 08:46Just posting up some footage from a trip earlier this year with site sponsor Montebellos Sportsfishing Charters Mahi Mahi III.
Highly recommend Capt Bernie and his crew for a live aboard charter, they go above and beyond to make sure you have an unforgettable trip.
Morning Gt session on the polycraft tender for an hour, hot bite with fish turning it on every 3 or 4 casts.
Anyone who has experienced gt fishing before knows that it can take an endless amount of casts to raise a fish sometimes.
So hope you Enjoy! in HD ;)

Gopro 3 warning
Submitted by Fathom on Sun, 2013-03-10 14:37Dont use 64G cards, thousands from all over the world are having trouble with them including me. Lost all my quadcopter footage from yesty and cam now doesn't recognise cards. (2 cards 2 cameras all out of action)
Gopro suggests using 32G or smaller, bit late now after suggesting otherwise, lost a few bucks on that (including my footage) and need new cards to start shooting again.
Be warned, upload your images from a card reader before using them in a Gopro again, my cams have worked for a while on 64G up till now.

Kimberley Research Videos
Submitted by Glenn Moore on Wed, 2013-02-20 09:04Apologies for the shameless plug, but for anyone who is interested in our (Museum) work in the Kimberley - we have a series of short videos from 2012 going online now. A new video goes up each day, so be sure to check back in. I meet a Reef Stonefish in today's release. There are videos from 2011 and 2010 too.
This is our research program, so there is not much fishing as such, except in one of the 2011 vids. The story of what we are doing there is at this link, and just go to the Videos tab to see us in action!
