Submitted by Jetskifishing on Mon, 2015-08-03 04:10A couple of good friends of mine are very competitive about who is the better fisher person between the two. I recommended they set an official challenge to sort out the result.

Schooling small YFT underwater
Submitted by ranmar850 on Mon, 2015-07-20 21:05After 5 weeks of almost nil surface activity, masses of small(2kg) YFT were around on our last day. Some came past very close so i yanked the gopro off my head and held it underwater. You van see the small fish they are feeding on right on the surface, but what blew me away was the numbers of fish under vs what was actually apparent on the surface.

Sailfish taken by sharks
Submitted by ranmar850 on Mon, 2015-07-20 08:44We had hooked a sail, and were getting close to bringing him boatside for release. Things were a bit complicated as he had done a good job of knitting as he charged through the pattern-at one stage he had both baits, the long skirt and the teaser all involved. With only two on board, it took a bit to get it under control, and we ended up with it hooked on one bait and dragging the long skirt behind. Then disaster strikes-- a pack of whalers arrive. I have never lost a sail to sharks before, thought we were immune, but these bastards were something else. You can see the smaller (2.5 m) ones circling as the big ones get into it. Then one rams the outboard. I literally felt sick. WARNING--no expletives deleted.

Underwater Bunker Bay
Submitted by lachieH on Mon, 2015-06-01 13:26Was getting bored yesterday so I put the GoPro on the homemade stick mount and put it underwater, all worked well and made a video of all the fish in just 1 meter of water. It was just a test video pretty much but it was really good to see all those fish!

Safety Bay Salmon
Submitted by Red Dog on Thu, 2015-05-07 14:10Yeah I know, not more friggin' Salmon. But this was a bucket list kind of thing for me.
So I was layin' there half awake in bed this morning when my wife says to me, "what's all that movement in the water down by the boat ramp?"
"I'm not sure - pass the bino's will ya hun?"
Like a sniper, I aimed the binoculars down at the big patch of boiling water just off shore to see a mess of fins and tails breaking the surface.
Phark me. That's a school of Salmon!!!!
Now, I've caught 'em in Dunsborough and Whitehills and Point Peron and Walpole and just about anywhere else a Salmon might be found.
But I've been waiting nine years to catch one on my home ground. NINE years.
Time to get the A into G.
My mind was racing. I only had maybe a couple of minutes to get some gear together and get on the beach before the school moved on.
I knew there was a rod in the rack with a busted up Halco Laser Pro on it but I might need some casting distance if I spook 'em, so I grabbed the big silver Twisty that was sitting in the gunnel of the boat on the way out the door.
So in the record time of about two minutes, I had me boardy's on, my trusty Silstar Power Tip in hand and I'm standing in knee deep water with no wind and a school of Salmon going off about ten metres away.
Ended up landing maybe six or seven and lost just as many in two twenty minute sessions. Now I know that catching a Salmon at the moment ain't rocket science but to say I was STOKED to catch my first Safety Bay Salmon is an understatement!

Bream fishing in the Canning River
Submitted by lachieH on Sun, 2015-03-08 17:20just uploaded the video. My first edit so please be nice. I didn't get an array of fishing spots, because I left the camera for far too long in one spot. This meant I got a lot of grunter, and not enough bream to only put bream on the video, but would definitely have had enough bream to make a dedicated bream video if the GoPro had recorded the whole day. I have the pics of the big bream on it. I think the video was uploaded in 1080P. It was absolutely perfect playing it on the file on my computer but when I played it on youtube, it was a bit pixelated but not really. Can I please have a bit of feedback because I want to know if I could make it better for next times video.
Thanks,
Lachie

youtube channel
Submitted by lachieH on Tue, 2015-01-27 14:46Hi everyone. I have an old YouTube channel that I used to use for minecraft but I quit that 2 years ago and now I want to start it up again for some fishing videos. You can watch the minecraft videos for a laugh they are quite embarrassing but anyway it will now be used for fishing.
here is my channel link
https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCa06DKow1DOpw6YNSkdDZiA
all videos will be taken with my gopro, and every time I put a video up (which should be about once a week) I will just put some background info on this thread.
i really wanted to do my first vid today but I am waiting on my chesty and head mount and floaty back door but they will be here by next week at the most.

Pilbara Freshwater Fish
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2015-01-19 09:57Just thought you / other members may be interested to check out a recent underwater film on Pilbara freshwater fish.
Not all about fishing but some species pop-up that would be of interest (e.g. barra, Mangie Jacks).
here’s the link:
