Wilderness Island 2016
Submitted by Shufoy on Fri, 2016-05-06 08:38 These Wilderness Island Trips to Exmouth have been running for 6 years now, and are still going strong!
This years trip to Wilderness Island for me was a bit of a mixed bag, it was the first time I have taken my boat across, and this was a huge eye opener for me as to what a trip of this scale entails. I'm talking preparation, fuel, the logistical side of it. Making an easy way of mounting the kayak wasn't too difficult, but the area to explore having a boat opens up for you in this area is amazing. My dad came up with me for the first week and we covered a lot of kilometers in that week exploring the eastern side of the gulf, and fishing the many amazing areas that produce.
The second week marked the arrival of the Western Angler/Yakfishwest Crew into the mix, and a diverse bunch they were this year. Despite the fishing not being a red hot as it has been in previous years, the mix of people and personalities made this years trips one of my favorites. Some good fish were still had for sure, and you will see them in the video.
I must thank Brendon Chalmers and Scott Coghlan for their respective contributions to the video which were much appreciated and gave the viewers some respite from my ugly mug!
As always, turn it up, watch on HD and enjoy the wonders of what has to be the absolute best Kayak Fishing destination in WA.
**WARNING** There is some boat fishing at the start of this clip, and for that, i apologize!
Thanks for watching.

Salmon video from a different perspective...
Submitted by Red Dog on Thu, 2016-04-28 08:16Underwater footage of Salmon with the Water Wolf camera.
Best viewed in HD - to be fair to the camera the original footage was much clearer - YouTube's compression doesn't do it justice.
Filmed off Walpole Western Australia.

Karijini to Marlin of Peak Sportsfishing Exmouth
Submitted by K_willo on Wed, 2016-03-02 13:40Organised my annual Exmouth trip last year to coincide with the blue marlin season and somehow roped my girlfriend into tagging along. Have always been super keen to fish on Peak and while we only tagged one blue (GF dropped another close to the boat) it was an awesome experience and I'll defintely be back. Unfortuately didnt get as much footage of the my fish as I would liked (more interested in getting my first one tagged) but decent footage of the lost one. Between microflights, lightning storms, long walks on the beach, snorkelling ad cliff jumping managed to get out for a day to chase spangos inside the reed and had a ball on various species.

Greenly Island off Coffin Bay South Australia - SBT Youtube video
Submitted by Paul H on Sun, 2016-02-28 16:49Was on the way to work on Tuesday morning when a mate called and asked if I wanted to meet him at the airport later that day to fly to Port Lincoln and head out in his boat from Coffin Bay with good weather a good reports of fish. Few can't make that meeting phone calls later and I was home and packing. Flew to Lincoln grabbed a few things from the supermarket and launched the boat. Headed out and arrived at Greenly Island right on sunset. put some baits out to catch a king but no live baits around apart from one arrow squid. That lasted 10 min and we had a double hook up of kings coming through the anchorage. Both busted us off one running around the anchor line. Caught a gummy which was released. Eventually grabbed some sleep to wake to a drizzly morning. Set off out of the anchorage with lures out but was quiet around the outside of Greenly so lures in and zipped south to Rocky Island. Lures out upon arrival and 10 minutes later first strike on an average Bluefin. ended up with our limit of 4 (2 persons) in a hour with the last one taking the lure as I was setting it out. Went back to Greenly and cleaned the fish then headed back to Coffins, square the boat away and just made the flight back that evening. Great Trip - wish I got more calls like that. Solo Swordfish Part 2
Submitted by Piscator on Mon, 2016-02-22 21:50You may have already seen the pics of this fish in the reports section, finally got the video edited and on Vimeo.
If the first 5 minutes wears you out then skip forward to 6:35 for the gaff shot - still puts shivers down my spine....
There a nice jump around 2:20 also.
Working on Part 3 now which features a VERY unlucky sword that blew up my megatwin and may be the first Swordish ever handlined in since Old Man and the Sea (though I had to contend with braid
)
enjoy

How venoms kill - Box Jelly / Snake
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Fri, 2016-02-19 06:59Bit of an interesting video on how venoms interact with the body. Bit corny at the end but the video itself is pretty interesting.

Ningaloo 2015
Submitted by ranmar850 on Tue, 2016-02-09 20:06Finally got around to editing the video from last years trip. Got a bit slack with the Gopro, and Studio won't let you insert stills. Sharks were a major PITA, and the potato cod weren't much better . All the cod were released with the 14lb release weight AKA sledgehammer head with a big hook welded on.

16kg South Aussie Bluefin
Submitted by Paul H on Fri, 2016-01-15 10:28After a week of wind managed to get out for the first try of 2016.
Caught one mate dropped another, hard work for them as they are in close to the coast and lots of boats competing for the bust-ups, some with no idea and just driving over the top of the schools. Dolphins also probably making them wary.

Two Rocks Fishing Trip
Submitted by dnienaber on Fri, 2015-10-09 13:03Hey All,
Recently fished some deep water off two rocks, prime coral bottom looking for some big Dhuies and whatever else was around.
Bit of a slow day out on the water, was fishing in 50-90+ metres, lots of bites but not much take.
Ended up with a nice 10kg Dhu, few smaller ones, couple of Pinkies and a nice Baldie.
Check out the video here...
Now you dont see that every day.

Dolphins bring good luck...
Submitted by Red Dog on Tue, 2015-09-01 17:35Video forums been a bit quiet of late so I thought I'd share this - hey maybe your sitting in some donga somewhere and wouldn't mind a small taste of the Big Blue...
We've all had Dolphins swimming off the bow but this was something pretty special - just out from Tern Island near the Bent St ramp.
We were sure it was a sign of good luck and so it was as my 12 year old went on to pick up a nice little Dhu (~60cm) in about five metres of water just out behind Third Rock - an awesome day.
