Phuket fishing

Hi guys, heading off to Phuket in a couple of days and was thinking of giving the fishing park a run. Has anyone been there as your thoughts would be most welcome, also how much would one expect to pay to spend a day there?

cheers

Tim

Gday, the fishing parks sound like fun , i tried a "prawn angling" resteraunt there and had a ball!   went out on a game boat (1st jan --crook) caugh 7 little tuna and hooked a friggin huge marlin all took turns fighting it until a french fella snapped it off after 2.5 hours.

I reckon the fishing lake is your best bet the mekong catfish are great fighters. if you want some fun and a wicked feed find a prawn fishing place. (like big cherabin)

Went for a dive 1hr 20 mins off past coral islands and was shocked at the lack of fish life and the amount of coral bleaching.... Dont think i will be booking a dive holiday to thailand anytime soon. funny thing was the dive guides were talking up how great it was other than the vis it was shit..We are lucky in perth.

get yourself on a 2 day charter out to the Burma Banks well worth it and not too expensive can can quite a variety of fish just take your own jigging/bottom bounceing gear otherwise the fishing shop on the corner in central does have some decent gear but not very good prices
