hi all just new to the site i have been reading the forums for a quite some time now so diceded to become a member anyway more to the topic i was just woundering whats been going on down at woodies point latley i have been hearing some good and bad reports and was planing to go down tomorrow with some mates and make the most of the school holidays untill dad gets the new boat we  were planning to bring a couple of  spining combos to target some herring scalys ect and a couple of over heads to target some rays maybe the odd gummy shark any tips or advice?

Headed out around 7 on saturday morning for a inshore snapper fish off hillaries. Bit swelly out there but still managed a few fish. My mate got a 60cm female dhu on plastic which was in such good condition we decided to release it. We also managed a few small pinkies around 30-40cm and also got this 70cm specimen. Also quite a few small sambos around to keep us entertained. Was a good mornings fishing...

Went out saturday arvo for a quick snapper bash out from hillaries. In a 2hr session out there i managed to burley up a big school of small snapper rangeing from 20 to 40cm's but also managed to pluck out a few larger specimens, both just over 60cm's. Was great to see so many smaller pinkies getting around. Bit of a dodgy pic due to a bit of a rough ocean and a small ally boat rocking around, so took another of the finished product. Baked pink snapper with garlic leak and tomato with a side of hand cut roasted rosemary patato chips, also some garlic aioli, lemon salt and a ice cold beer :)

Both Bec and I got our first Marlin today. Weather was awsum (thanks Adam), the company lovely and we got two fish up for two fish released at the boat.

Hit the Sound last night after not having been out for quite a while.  Scored this gummy and lost at least one other.  Had a few unstoppable rays come through and picked up a few herring on the surface while we were waiting for the heavier rods to go off.

Well have finally got hold of some photos from our trip to the Abrohlos in mid May. What started many months earlier as a trip from Perth to Broome due to many changing circumstances turned into a 12 day Perth to Abrohlos and back adventure.

We left Freo Sunday evening to an absolute cracking glass off. The boat was packed first beers cracked and the boys were all pretty excited about what lie ahead. Having done a few trips togethor to the Monte's before we all new what to expect and packed accordingly. The 'cans only' rule once again applied excpet for Dr Baz who always seems to get an exception. Blocks of Export, EB and VB loaded and we were set to go. Plus the stubbies of Rogers. 

Our home on the seas was Baz's pride and joy. 60 foot of recently refurbished class. With a skipper and just the four boys on board we had plenty of room. 

The steam up to the Abrohlos was textbook - until we hit turtle dove when a storm rolled through. Not to worry we soldiered on with no fishing at Turtle Dove and hit the Abrohlos about 9am. I decided I would convert the boys to artificials (well try anyway). So down went to the jigs and plastics - and these boys are once a year fishers so by no means expert in jigging/plastics technique. The proof was in the pudding though, no need to be an expert in these waters.

A couple of nice pickups early on for the dinner table. The boys were quickly convinced the artificials had some merit. It didnt take to long though and they were back on the bait wagon.

Once we had a feed we headed for a swim. With an abundance of life in the place it doesnt take too much to find some decent grounds for a look around. You get baldies like this one just begging for a straight hook through him. This one was lucky though, the gun was still on the boat.

The next few days followed a pretty similar path, brekky, book club (bit of morning relaxation reading and planning the days adventures) coupla mid morning brews then into it. Diving and fishing till our hearts content. With water like this it was hard not to think you are in paradise. One dive had a sea lion follow us around being very inquisitive for over 30 minutes. He came right up into our faces to check us out before scooting off putting on a show for us.

After all the hard work a bit of relaxing fishing was in order, resulting in multiple triple hookups.

Now we by no means had to try at all to get into the fish, this is an example of a standard days effort. 

The weather gods treated us ok though a few storms did roll through but they tended to pass pretty quickly. We went for a bit of a walk one day to explore one of the northern islands and were pretty happy we arrived by boat. We figured we did better than the bloke driving this thing anyway.

The last few days resulted in a casualty of sorts with one of the boys succumbing to seasickness on a run back to Gero and he left us to it. We spent 2 days up the coast from Gero to Kalbarri doing a bit of exploring for a bit of a side project. Managed to find a bunch of cray spots on the way and had some awesome weather in close to the cliffs. Once we had dropped off a few passenegers who made the Gero to Kalbarri trip we were back to the Abrohlos - destination Batavia. We had all read the book, done our history homework and were pretty stoked to get an absolute corker of a day to expolore the wreck. 

The day started as usual, breakfast on the BBQ in another idylic location.

Followed by a dive on the wreck. There were some huge baldies there and crays galore, you couldnt go more than 5m without spotting another dozen of them, being a no fishing zone they were all off limits.

 Our final run back to Gero saw some serious hook ups to some sharks. These things went like freight trains and ended up with bust offs close to the boat which suited us fine. We were done by that time anyway.

The journey back to Gero was another usual day at the office. Beers, feed and telling a few stories.

The steam back was pretty much text book as well, a little bit rougher at times but all in all a nice run home back to Freo. Here's a final one of me at the wheel doing my stint at the helm.

All in all we had a great trip, caught a heap of fish and released a heap more. All the usual Abrohlos species, coral trout, snapper, spaniards, baldies the list goes on. Another great trip with a great bunch of mates. One notable absentee was Lamby. His deckie skille were sorely missed - because I had to pick up the slack. Next year mate.

went out with Luke R from allboats yesterday and what an amazing day!! that boy sure knows how to fish!! strong currents made the deep water a bit hard but we had a ball jigging pinkies, sambos and ambers off the north mole. double and tripple hookups almost every drop made for some quality fishing on the light gear. it was one of the best days ive had off of Perth, and if you ever want to hand over those SOM pliers Luke.......Quality!

Headed out with Jody this arvo for a quick fish .tide was running from the North so I didn't expect to get a lot but I was wrong .We started fishing 3:30 and two hour later had tagged 11 dhuies and kept one also two snapper and a baldie  Also Recaught 2 tagged fish ..But as soon as the sun hit the water things went quiet. What a great way to finish the day and tag our 100th fish .Bring on Sunday.

We had a visit from one of my kids a week or so ago, havnt seen him for 2 years so it was great .The weather wasnt that flash but the two of us got out for a couple of days in the boat and we managed a half day with Bec and Grace with us as well. Shaun has not fished here before so it was all new for him. The little bugger hasnt lost the generous dose of arse that he inherited from me and managed some pretty good fish.

First day we scored him a red, trout, mackie off the bottom and released spangos, red throats cod etc. I nailed a nice cobia and Shaun had a thumper cobe spit his popper out after we found some mantas near the Murions.  We had a quick swim and grabbed a nice cray for that nights reef n beef as well .

Probably the highlight of the trip was releasing 10 trout the next arvo , keeping the big one I`m holding and then taking him for a dive and spearing another trout and a bluebone.

Sunday blew pretty hard so we went to Tantas chasing bluebone with Bec and Grace, the young bloke pinning the only one for the day while his old man dropped a couple. didnt I hear about that . . .

The windy rainy days I spent teaching him how to drive on the beach and reverse the boat and trailer down the ramp , a necessary life skill that when learned young will never be forgotten . It certainly got some funny looks at the marina a 15 year old doing laps with a 24 footer . . Got it pretty good he did too :-) 

LLoyd aka twitchemup,Heard i was in Dongara for the weekend and was keen for a fish.The plan was hatched,To see if we could get into any greenbacks at my tailor spots.I was not to confident as the previous morning was very quiet with only mackies teasing me jumping 200m out (only day i didnt have ballooning gear on me....lol!)and a couple of small fish around 400mm.Anyway i told him not to expect much.Meet up at 6am too overcast weather and a strong S/E wind,I was feeling a lot more confident as this is prime conditons in my experience.Anyway a quick 4wd into my first spot and a fruitless 1hr of casting every likely looking area resulted in nothing,Hmm i thought probably to calm.Time to try another spot

Arrive at the other spot not expecting much but one look of the water i know there has to be fish...What resulted turned out to be an epic session,Starting on poppers we had fish smashing them even pretty much out our feet.Then we went to stickbaits for pretty much a fish cast for quiet a while.Fish size were from 50cm-66cm with the 66 cm fish being probably the fattest i have ever seen and defiantly well over 3kg.Hooked a few monsters aswell with trebles absolutly destroyed and me losing my Bullchop to a solid fish.Must have caught well over 20 fish.My pics didnt turn out but here are a couple of pics of llyods with a few of his fish

A very memorable session and glad i could take Lloyd out of his comfort zone and get him into some fish,i get the feeling he will be doing more of this now..The surface strikes are just that addictive

Had an interesting couple of days out on the water.  Heading out west of the Muirons yesterday doing the solo I was greeted by sharks at 6 of my spots ranging from 40m to 70m, was pretty bloody un-impressed.  Ended up with one small coronation that I kept and threw a heap of red throats, small but sized spanglies and one just size red that I felt sorry for back.  Everything that was decent went to the noahs and the two really good fish I got past them were dropped half way up (wasn't happy).  Still did a bit of recon and was happy finding some new spots.

Headed out late today around lunch time with my mate Mick and the plan was to head south of Tantas.  First two spots in the 60's produced sharks on the first drops (unbelievable) so we decided to head deep and give the rubies a crack.  Needless to say it was magic out there, free jumping marlin, pods of spinner dolphins wanting to play and lots of whale activity and next to no drift so we could just sit on the spot.  We stayed there for a while until we had some decent fish in the bag (Mick needed some for a coming Perth trip), even though they weren't big rubies, they still put some hurt on and made for some entertainment.  Highlight would have to have been the two whales that did 4-5 laps of the boat just sitting underneath us (was a bit worried for a while) watching us, watching them - was a rather surreal experience in really blue clear water.  We then went back into the shallows to try again, the first spot the sharks had moved out of and a heap of smallish spango's had moved in.  We kept a few of the bigger ones (nothing solid though) and moved in closer as the northerly started picking up.  First drop on the spot produced a nice rankin for Mick and gave us our bag limit, on that we headed back to the ramp at 28 knots and before the rain moved in.  Got back and had the fish and boat cleaned by 5.30, a pretty good day on the water.

While working on site in Africa I met a couple of great blokes, Mick and Rex who have a beach shack a couple of hours north of Perth with some great fishing spots. The weather was looking pretty good all week so we took off on Sunday arvo towing Mick's 8m cat behind the old effy. First day it was a 6am wakeup to beach launch the boat, which went pretty well and soon enough we were on our way out to a spot that had produced some monster Dhu's in its time. Both Mick and Rex both enjoy fishing bait and had brought enough for about a week,  I was keen to christen my new Major Craft Alexander PE3 rod and give the 6000PG Stella another good run.

We got to the spot and hadn't even switched on the sounder so I wasn't expecting too much, though I sent down my trusty 80g Ima Ro in the sardine colour. As soon as the jig hit the bottom it was literally jig, jig, jig bang!! Not long after Mick was also onto a decent fish before Rex had even got his line in the water. AFter a pretty good fight we both had our fish on the surface, both Dhu's of around 4kg. Mine was pretty stuffed so it went into the kill tank and Mick's was released in good conditon. I thought I'd try a different jig so on the next drift I sent down a 130g Caprice. It was the same deal as the previous drift, not long after the jig hit the bottom I was on to another good fish, and this time it was Rex's turn to get one on bait. Rex's was a pretty good fish so we kept that one and let mine go as we'd got our boat limit in 2 drifts and about 10 minutes!! We decided to try and get a few baldy's as they were apparently like flies out there. We tried a number of spots but all we kept getting was Dhu's - a nice problem to have ordinarily but we wanted something different. The day slowed down and we only managed to get a couple of baldies and a few other bits and pieces.

Day 2 we decided to have a more serious crack at getting something other than dhu's. We tried a few different spots without much luck, only getting a few bb's and the usual bycatch. We got to some ground that looked very likely for baldies so were all anticipating getting a few. The boys were'nt even getting a touch on bait, which was not a good sign. My caprice wasn't getting much interest either till I got a big hit about 10m off the bottom. I was fishing a fair bit of drag on the stella, which was not even looking like slowing the fish down at all! After a few good runs and a great fight a dhu of around 10kg was on the surface. We hadn't boated one yet so it was dispatched and put into the kill tank. We decided it was time to get another dhu so went back to the same spot as the other day, which we were now calling "the shop". We got there and I said to Rex - "watch this" and put the jig caprice down - jig, jig, jig, bang, the same as yesterday!!! Mick also got onto a nice fish and we got them up at about the same time. Mine was in good condition and not as big as Mick's (around 10kg) so we kept his and sent mine back down. We set up another drift which produced another small dhu for me and a serious hit for Rex. He was fishing a Stella 20k with a fair bit of drag which got peeled off in no time! Not long after the hookup he dropped the fish, which he was calling for a big dhu. On inspecting his rig his 6o gamakatsu circle hook had been straightened..... We had one more drift and caught a few more dhu's each then decided to leave to avoid catching any more! We tried some more spots that produced a decent bb and a good baldie then it was time to head in to try and haul the 4t cat out of the water. We'd timed it so that we were retrieving at low tide so we'd have a decent run up to get up the beach. On the first attempt we mucked around too much and the trailer tyres sunk in too much and we weren't going anywhere. On the second attempt we were quicker though, and giving the 7.3L turbo diesel v8 all it had as well as nailing both the 175hp outboards the boat was luckily on its way up the beach.

All in all a great trip with some of the best dhu fishing I've ever seen, with at least 20 fish pulled off one spot over the 2 days. Both Mick and Rex were surprised how well the jigs worked, and are both keen to have a go now. Here are a few of the better fish caught:

hey was thinking of heading down sat morning never been before just wondering if any1 knows if you can get 4wd access onto the beach and/or if its legal or not?

Not WA fishing but thought I would share a recent fishing adventure I had in Botswana catching Tiger fish. As you will see from the photos these are powerful fish with a serious set of teeth!

 As soon as we got to our hotel on the Chobe river in Botswana I sussed out the deal with fishing as I was itching to catch Africa's iconic fresh water sport fish - the Tiger fish. For about $100 for half a day we got a small boat with guide and all the gear, which was cheap shimano 4000 size reels on even cheaper looking rods... We put the lures out the back and started trolling through some likely looking water near some small rapids. It took a while for the first strike, as the water was a bit cool, but soon enough I was onto a decent fish of around 1.5 - 2kg. The thing was going nuts, with plenty of aerial activity before I managed to get him to the boat and into the net. I managed to get a few more small fish, while the missus seemed to have the lure of choice as she was getting onto plenty of good fish that were way too big as they either were either unstoppables that headed for the nearest snag or went for a jump and spat the lure.

After getting a good fish i was keen as to go again the next day with my mate Dave who we were travelling with. We caught and released several small fish before Dave finally got on to a better one. After a bit of complaining and a pretty decent fight he had the fish on board, again probably around the 2kg mark. All in all we all had a great time catching Tiger's which had soooo much go and made Barra look pretty tame. After talking to a few people at the hotel one guy said he had caught them to 8kg, can only imagine the fight they would give!!!

Hey All,

Headed over to the Southern group at Abrohlis last weekend with Reel Affair Charters and had a Awesome trip with a wide variety of species boated over the 3 days that we fished.Trout were notably around in very good numbers and keen to smash plastics and lures of all types. We didnt see many dhu's but all were taken on jigs with pirates and ima ro's accounting for fish up to 65cm.One of the punters did score a nice coronation trout on bait and pinks were around in plague proportions at times.Here are some pics to sum up the weekend.

When we returned to the island most of the boys sat around the fire and had a few beers i decided to cast a few poppers around and although the longtoms were in plague proportions on my second cast i noticed a large boil form right behind my popper. After one more bloop it was smashed by a large Coral trout which wasted no time in destroying the 40lb fluro leader i was using on the sharp coral below.Over the next couple of days i spent most arvos donating stickbaits and poppers to the trout which were unstoppable on pe 3 in 4 feet of water surrounded by razor sharp coral.I did manage to get the wood on two smaller units over a couple of days.I regretted not packing more of a broomstick and the stella which was what was required to remove these Devils from there home.Epic fun none the less!

Just like to report that Harvey Dam is DAMMMMMMMMMMM cold and I didnt catch a thing except for frost bite from standing in the water , there was a few people fishing there yesterday , anyone from here.

 Hey all....

woke up this morning, and checking sea breaze while looking out the window, and what there report was saying, just didnt add up....Weatherwilly was bang on,so i woke the missus up, got her out of bed and we were launching at woodies within 60 mins......We arrvied about 10am, and knowing that the wind was spose to pick up at around 2pm....

It was mariahs first time on the boat, as its practically impossible to get her on the boat due to uni/work and mariah not understanding i cant predict the weather 2-3 weeks in advanced so she can get a day off. so mariah got boating 101 launch and retrieve. I basically figured out now i can retrieve the 6.4m boat i have by my self which is a good thing if need be, but i would rather always have some one with me.

Headed out to my ground with no one else in sight we had 10 in the buck avg tube would of been 150mm some pushing the 200mm. We lost a  couple 250mm plus boat side due to lack of experience i think but that was all good. We ended up both getting squid ink facials! and ill attach the photo of me!

all in all we got out limit biggest tube going 290mm...

good day out, mariahs all of a sudden turned the corner more with fishing and now wants to try and come out wide. I keep saying she needs to get her sea legs first, and today was a good try as it wasnt a millpoind. after her big squid took a little bit of line on the flickie mariah was rapped, i kept getting questions like what happens when you hook something big? do they fight, i wanna come out deep with you? how far do you go etc etc.....i think sambo jigging this summer may put her in her place haha! but im stoked she turning more and more to fishing and forgeting about the cold and whinging about that!

Adz and I left town this morning uncertain of what the weather was going to do but it turned it on for us and we had a glassy day- complete opposite of yesterday, sorry Scott!

We headed out wide and started sounding around in 350m or so and once we found some fish Adz was first drop.

It was a fair lump of a fish which he ended up calling for a shark most of the way up until a nice red shape hit the surface. Finally we had found big rubies, this one going an easy 10kg and so solid across the shoulders.

I was up next and hooked up to a suspected good ruby again only to have the braid break 77m up from the rig. A re-rig and another drop had me onto my deepwater ooglie

Not wanting to leave without a big ruby myeslf I had one more drop followed by a big hookup.

I'd had enough after that so we came in shallower (120m) and pulled a red emperor, pearl perch and goldband. 

We decided to try and complete the red/orange trifecta so came in shallow to see if there was a coral trout around but to no avail. Back at the cleaning table we decided to check the ruby snapper's stomach and found some interesting stomach contents. I'd hate to digest these spiny things.

All in all it was a very good day with some new spots for the GPS. Still gotta get me that big rube.

My buddy Ramstein took me fishing on the 26/5. We left from Woodies at 8am and planned to trawl for some of these elusive macks near 5 fathom then drift his secret spot known as "sunset boulevard" (due to him catching 2 montster dhu's on sunset on a prior trip). 

Anyway, in went the mack lure as we approached the eastern side of 5 fathom, we dropped down to 8 knots and with 5 mins BANG. He let me fight the fish and it took some time to get in. As the specie was wound closer to the boat we realised it was a mako (or blue shark or are they the same thing?). The gaff and net were on Nicko's porch. Ramstein tried to grab the tail and skull drag it on deck, however the shark freaked out, doveran deep and hard for 30 seconds and PING, it was off - ah well.

We went onto to catch 10 dhu's (1 sized and the rest weight released successfully) 10 SG bakers and some black bum's, with some big bustoffs

Awesome Day - "Sunset Boulevard" rocks

Adz and I took Scott aka Worldfisher out today to show him the best of what Exmouth had to offer and it was sh*t!!! It was about the worst weather I've fished in up here and our plans for marlin, deep fish and trout were all blown away by the north-westerly. We launched even though all the whale shark boats cancelled their trips as a storm front rolled across the reef

We figured we could push out and troll for marlin still but 10 minutes later we called that idea off and tried to salvage the day on some in close reef we've got. Scott and I were fishing soft plastics and Adam used bait but the fast drift made things pretty difficult. Scott and I got reefed once each by suspected trout and I puled the hooks on another. Adz then hooked up and got bricked big time after we thought he had all the hard work done, very decent trout that one. Finally Scott hooks up and landed his first spanglie on light gear and a placcy, congrats mate.

I then hooked up on the funkiest plastic in my tacklebox and landed a nice trout.

We persevered for another drift until Adam's sunnies slipped off his head and into the drink. Despite his heroics diving in after them they have now left this world, farewell fellas.

With showers and another storm front looming we pulled the pin while we still could and came home. Sorry Scott that we couldn't make it happen but you did score the shittest day of the year! Once again photos do the crap conditions no justice. If anyone get the chance to take Scott out it's well worth it. He's a top fella with some good fishing stories too.

Anyone know if the rivermouth has opened up yet thinkin of getting up there over the next weekend  

Once you've tasted wild fishing in Thailand, there is no turning back. The fights !!! The surprise big catch!!! The wild feeling. Nothing else can beat it.

As you fish more oftens in the wild, you'll be more wiser. You'll  learn new lesson on every wild fishing trip , you will adapt to the natural surrounding & you will also leave behind your footprints & legacy at every dams you fished.

The hardcore feelings of " I've been there & done it." at least once in my lifetime. ;)

There is a saying that "A good fisherman knows all the angles. " not only good in ponds fishing but also in wild fishing as well. :)

Thought it about time to post a thread on the trip we just done down to hopey, decided to drag the cat down for a couple of days of fishing if the weather held up. First mistake of the trip was towing the boat with the brother inlaws troopy instead of ny 4.8l patrol, struggled big time when we hit hills and chewed a similar amount of juice. In the end though it didn't miss a beat so can't really complain!!

Day one friday 24/7/11 Beach fishing

Rolled into Hopey around lunch time and decided to fish from the beach as the wind was up.

Day two saturday 25/7/11 Water in Fuel

Decided to head out on the boat around 11 it was pretty messy out there, got just outside the inner reef and water in the fuel alarm comes on, turn round and head back to the ramp on one motor. Spent the rest of the arvo trying to sort the motor out, ended up following a forum members advice and got her firing again (cheers Scott), rigged up a makeshift fuel tank out of a jerry can and we were good to go. Sunday was looking good.

Day three Sunday 26/7/11 Grouper day

Hit the water round 8 and it was messyer than expected but would be the only day out. Found a nice lump in round 30m got a couple of queenies, a nanie, a nice bb and a few skippy. Had a couple of big bust offs which we put down to sharks.

Fished a few more lumps heading out to the 50's with a few bits and pieces, plenty of fish on the sounder and great ground but they had really gone off the bite. Got a massive cuttley that should have gone in the photo comp but got cut up for bait and dinner!! Conditions got better as the day went on and we slowly caught ourselves a nice feed.

The clock hit round 4.30 so it was about time to head in, I'm always a sucker to do one more drop so back to the first spot we went to do one more. First drop was a couple of skips, dropped them on the deck and back to the bottom when all hell broke loose. The TLD 50 was screaming with a big fish that was fighting dirty, if it wasn't for the head shakes might have called it a ray or shark. Was so hard to pull from the bottom but slowly made progress, about 30 min later I could see a big blue shape under the boat and I knew exactley what it was. Would have loved to see the big fella swim off but with such a big fight he was gone. Went just over a metre and at a guess round the 40 kg mark.

Couple of entries for the comp and a few nice fillets headed home the monday, back at work tomorrow but hopefully I can get a few more on the score board when I get back!!

Set out from Two Rocks Sunday 7am, Had a very 'interesting trip' getting through the three mile, never been in conditions like that before. I would like to thank Paul G for the advice not to set off before daybreak as it would have been a massive mistake.

Once through had a rough ride to direction bank, where we caught 3 dhuies, 3 Baldies (2 over 55cm) 4 snapper and 2 Black Arse (1 over 50cm !!)

The conditions calmed down after lunch, and we had a lovely ride back in, stopped half way back when we spotted 2 Humpback whales, they were no more than 100 metres away from us, fantastic to see.

Launched the boat at 2pm this arvo with John F. It was an oil slick all afternoon. Bait fish scattered every few hundred meters.

The conditions meant the fish were hard to come by early on. We started fishing at about 2:30, John scoring some trevally.

Given the still conditions, I decided to use the 6lb gear with light jig heads all day. Didn't score anything until after 5pm.

As soon as the sun was about to set, I strapped the boat to a preferred patch of nice ground where I have picked up snapper before.

As soon as the sun set, the sounder showed plenty of activity. Scored 1 small squire @ 45cm & was absolutely suprised to see 4 big old man snapper follow it all the way to the boat. John dropped a plastic right on their heads & they showed some interest, but typical of snapper, they were still semi-shy.

Next cast I go hit on the drop (watched the line strip), but was too late. Kept twitching the placcy & got a decent hookup that started off pretty tame. Seconds later it took off & after a good 10 minute fight, a beaut snapper hit the surface.

John scored another nice squire on the last drift - put up a solid fight on tight drag (1 reason why the snapper is one of my favourite fish). Unfortunately, we had to head home as the missus' had dinner ready.

Got to the ramp to see sea rescue had towed someone in. 1980's johnson probably needed to be retired some time ago.

It was tough going early on, but as soon as night was upon us, it all happened. Big pink was caught on 6lb which I am pretty pleased about.

Well after a lumpy ride out and a wet face.we got to the first spot plenty of fish on the sounder .we hooked up stright away small dhuie .this dhuie must like the ride to the top as it has been caught on the same spot three times now.we tagged it a few weeks back. still in good condition  36m. Back down till the next time .Then a big run and a good fish only to have it snap the braid at the eye of the rod after 3minutes of fight. bloody pots were a pain as every bit of ground has a pot on it making fishing hard work .No big dhuies today but plenty of small ones to 6kg.headed home at lunch time just as the wind dropped,Days catch 11 dhuies 1 kept 10 tagged,2 sambos released ,2 snapper released,2 baldies Kept  1 big break sea released.even got a couple of pics for the photo comp  .Home to watch the end of the footall go the eagles.

hey guys im still trying to find myself some salmon i know its late but im still hearing whispers of them being here and there. was a sighting at cott groin last week and the cut the week before, anyone else heard or seen anyting around the place?
