Petrol at mid west marinas
Submitted by Camo.W on Thu, 2022-07-21 14:38Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows if you can get petrol at any of the midwest Marinas? Leeman, Lancelin, Jurien etc.
Looking at what I've found online they only have Diesal facilities through Baileys Marine fuels.
Don't want to get a bladder if I don't have to
Cheers, Tight lines.

Isolation boredom ( treating my love)
Submitted by little johnny on Wed, 2022-07-20 20:19Feeling really good this morn . ( still positive) I thought I would give the love of my life a makeover . Started to sand her down . Soon as iam free of lockdown . I will get paint and give her new paint job up top . Everything below solid . Just the looks needs improving . Many many years in water poor thing must be wondering WTF . Hasn’t seen water lately ( 4 days) endured 2 great white attacks (1 bad one) whale tail . Horrid winds . Even a nomad boat trying to park on it in water . Part off my life . Swifty owners will know . All jokes aside looking forward to getting her cosmetics looking good .

Pinkys were earnt today
Submitted by uncle on Sat, 2022-07-16 16:39Drove to Rockingham for 7.30 start, strong winds a bit of rain, put in at pt person, didn't go to far, bait cast mulie bango, 60 cm of pink.we caught a few undersized, had 2 blistering runs but chopped the mono, then a 72 cm pink, stayed awhile but bite shut down when peck tide was over, skipper missed out but ended up with a nice fish, you can catch fish on a N/E.

Inboard cons
Submitted by scotto on Sat, 2022-07-16 07:56As with probably all of you, I'm always lookin at my next boat. I currently have a 22ft Whittley with a Suzuki outboard, which I service myself. The next step up in boat size starts getting towards a few petrol inboard models, which we all know come with a bad perception on maintenance and dramas. Yes, I'd love to get a trailerable 26footer with twin 300 mercs, but I haven't won lotto yet, and Gina rhinehart keeps refusing my belgium waffle prices
I want to know anyones bad experiences with petrol inboards please. Regular issues, common problems, extra maintenance, etc.
feel free to comment if you have anything good to say about them too.
cheers legends.

Chicken breast for bait?
Submitted by Fathom on Thu, 2022-07-14 11:33Havn't been able to get any occy lately, and @ $27kg it's getting a bit pricey. The schools of little pinkys around at the moment are a pain in the arse, I need a bait that can last long enough for my target species. I might try marinating chicken breast in Tuna oil for half the price of occy, anyone tried this?

WA Fisheries have been busy in the Courts:
Submitted by Moking on Wed, 2022-07-06 12:02In the courts
Breaching the 10kg finfish limit cost a Melville man more than $4600 in the Shark Bay magistrate’s court recently when he was found to have 19.6kgs of finfish fillets at his campsite.
The abuse and obstruction of fisheries officers at Lighthouse Bay near the Ningaloo Marine Park in April led to a Great Southern man receiving fines and costs of nearly $3000.
Illegal mud crab fishing cost a 47 year old man almost $4000 in fines, penalties and costs in the Derby Court after his boat was found with undersized crabs and 10 more than the personal daily bag limit.
Illegal sales of rock lobster, as well as using excess pots and interfering with other people’s fishing gear, has cost a Cooloongup man more than $30 000 in fines and costs, as well as having to forfeit his boat and gear.

Sold the Boat
Submitted by Willlo on Mon, 2022-07-04 11:53Well , after 2 to 3 years of hardly getting a chance for a fish, sky rocketing costs the green turd brigade shutting us out etc , ive pulled the pin. Was a great boat did many miles and caught plenty of fish. Not gone altogether tho , im going back to how i started out 30 yrs ago. I picked up a 4.8 hornet s/console , so will be after river and estuary species and the odd close in pinkie . im going to need a new set of glasses to tie this mico braid stuff tho lol. Tight lines crew.

Silver sands / Mandurah
Submitted by straith on Sat, 2022-07-02 02:06Hey all,
New to the area and went for a toodle from silver sands up to secret harbour on one of these beautiful winter easterly days and noticed on the Garmin that everything from about 100 MTRS out to the beach is marked game reserve?? Can anyone enlighten me more on what the go is with that? Also seems pretty quiet boat wise here, is their any good weed banks local for squiddies and Geordies or should I head elsewhere??not looking for spots just a general idea of what is worth chasing, also thought I'd try a night mulloway trip sitting out back of the "game reserve" in the troughs behind the surf maybe?
