Our first catch...anyone else up here at the resort?

Hi,

Looking to get my first boat. Narrowed down search to a 5m Quintrex Freedom Sport. Allows me to get the kids out on the river; and also capable of getting out on the ocean and getting some serious fishing in when I have more experience.

What should I be looking out for when I go and see boats? Happy to arrange a professional inspection, but of course want to view as many as possible before commiting $$$. Also, what should I expect to pay for annual rego and comprehensive insurance?

 I was just wondering what species of fish i could catch at woodmans point boat ramp/ammo jetty/rock wall. Thanks. Also is there a chance that i could get a squid or two around there.

herring !! Only too have my deckie  nailed by

a good skipp !! We swapped for a little ball

sinker ! Too get our little prawn baits too

waft down nicely ! Rest was history fellas ‘

pinned a few squid too finnish off,. !

 Gday people, just moved down to perth from darwin and looking to suss out the weather to head out for a fish. The rule of thumb for up north was under 10kn and .5 swell would be good conditions, is there a similar rule of thumb people go by for down here? Ive got a 6m joshua boat sports fisher which like most ali's tends to slap about in anything other than slight chop but it has routinely been 70k offshore up north when the conditions are right. I would be looking to head out the back of rottnest up here so any help to suss what weather is needed for a safe trip out there would be appreciated.

Will the leading line be fine with a 3m swell. Thinking of hitting it in the dark on Saturday to fish the 3 mile. I've gone through the Hillarys' GAP up to 2.5m but think I will give Saturday a miss going through the GAP with predicted swell size and use the leading line. Very harry in the dark.

I’ll be at Point Samson from 5th - 15th August, is anyone else up that way around same time? If anyone is looking to get out fishing I may have a spot on my boat.

Just purchased a boat on the weekend which is fitted with a Simrad GO7 GPS/Sounder. I was hoping someone with the same or similar sounder might have some advice on what manual settings to use to get the most out of the sounder. I generally fish in the 40m range for dermersals.  Any help would be much appreciated.

 Went out with young Gareth at 2 pm, bit of burley time and it was on, skips were smashing bigjohns micro bucktail jigs, best waz  63 cm on bait, they never stopped and we left em biting, back at the marina at 6pm. Could'nt get a bait down for a pink.

I am looking to buy a 5.8 -7m Ali centre cab, just seeing whats available. Im paying cash and Im ready to buy. I live in Karratha but I am willing to travel for the right boat.

Deff not the biggest we have faced but bit more than I normally like to tackle with punters onboard.

There was only about a 2m swell running and looked fine all the way up to it till the set turned up.

hi is it possible to run a amar t560 with hds 10 a gen 2 lowrance and what would the settings be , i have tried for 6 years to get it to show fish arches , it will show perfect bottom and blobs where mabe fish are , transducer settings have been altered many times, at present transducer is 3deg forward from flush,amar t560 is the current settings,any help greatly appreciated===thanks

 Hi guys , off to monkey mia this weekend...   Just wondering if anyone has been up lately and if so how was the fishing. Have seen some videos of guys trolling of monkey mia somewhere catching mackies...does anyone know where would you go,what depth etc.....only been there once and that was only for a day or two..didnt have much luck...are up there for 2 weeks this time...

 Hi all trying to organise a trip to the southern group Abrolhos next April but will have to head up by boat as boat not on a trailer (C35) just chasing any info I can get from anyone who has done the same trip ie where they stoped for fuel Jurien or dongara , best spots to get mooring or anchor with a bigger boat  and roughly how it whent .

 I keep my half cabin boat raised and fully covered by a water proof boat cover. But after it rains I find about 3 ltr of water pooling inside, down the rear of the boat.The boat is utterly covered and there are no holes or tears or anywhere the rain can breach the cover... how is this happening?

The engine is a 70HP 2 stroke outboard. It's a 2008 model if that helps?

 Hi, I would like to take a couple of my grandkids, to fish in the inlet and Dawsville cut, I have a 5m Quintrex, and will launch at dawsville, does anyone here fish in and around the cut, and is it worth anchoring in the Cut and what fish do you catch, I have not been there before.

 Guys, anyone give me a pointer for purchasing parts for my Saltist 4500 reel. My bail arm broke & i was trying to purchase from Japan, but the price they were charging, after i paid by paypal, was over $380.00 ( FOR A FUCKING BAIL ARM), so i have obviouisly cancelled the order, but don't want to leave my reel broken, it is too good.  TIA

 Has anyone purchased a chinese import hull from Gospel Boats, Wildsea or Acco Boats? If you have could you please share your experience. I know their is alot of opinion on this subject but I am after first hand experience.

Just wanting to know if anybody has got or use 1 of these units. If so are they any good? Currently running a raymarine axiom 7. But I don’t really like the sounder and it’s not able to run a 1kw transducer. Is the sounder any good on the 1971f? Cheers
