Has anyone ever skippered a boat from carnarvon to Gnaraloo if so how many miles is it by sea.

heading out crabbing tomorrow to the esturay from the serpentine river. Any fish caught out there or around? Any help would be awesome.

 I recently bought one of these reels.....penn 500 jigmaster.....its an overhead with a star drag...the problem with it is no matter how tight the drag is I can still pull line off it with my hand.....anyone else have one of these or know what's wrong or how to fix it??

 Hi fellas, gonna buy a gopro. I was set on the new one black Ed as I haven't owned one before. Went to one of the retailers and he mentioned that the gopro2 is still best for value as I can get heaps of accessories for the same price, and also the gopro 3 had heaps of bugs. Wasn't sure if he was just trying to sell his old stock, but went home and searched the net and found that gopro 3 had heaps of problems unlike the 2.

Seems afew of you fishos have the new 3, I want to know  if any of the problems I read about is true( most in America and also bought last year),or is the gopro2 better than the 3?

I am planning to go crabbing in mandurah this weekend.I am not sure if it is too late to go there now?First time ever gonna try crabbing and would be great if anyone can share some good spots.I have got scoop and nets but doesn't have a boat.Planning to go in the early morning but some say best to go at dusk.Thanks in advance.

Hi guys Iv just joined up and in need of a little info.

So we have just started trolling recently, mainly for Macks but anything is a bonus however we are constantly pulling the lures in to clear weed off them to the point we just give up and go home. Is there anything you can do to avoid this ? Is it due to the Easterly wind ? Will it go away ?

Iv done a heap of research over the last few weeks looking at old posts and reading everything and anything to do with macks. We bought a heap of Halco pro lasers and wev been sticking to about 5-7 knots. Wer yet to venture out to Rotto as we dont have an EPRIB but we caught a Mack awhile ago on a bait pretty close to home so wev been cruising all over the place. I think we are on the right track and are bound to have some luck eventually but is there anything we are doing wrong ?

 hey guys i know this isnt about fishing but, my mate dropped his phone in the middle of the road and didnt have time to pick it up, unfortunately it got run over by a car or two, it doesnt turn on, the back is smashed and the front is perfect he gave it to me as it doesnt work anymore, i was just wondering if anybody knows how to fix it or if it has happened to anybody before

Does anyone use willy weather ?. It seems they forecast about half of what seabreeze does so it makes for a very hard call when to go out or not. I Have been watching willy weather all week and its saying less than 10 knots yet according to BOM its 23 knots on rottnest at the moment. Is it usually that unaccurate or is it just a one off?.

 Dont really want to fish in 23 knots for some unknown reason

WA fisheries would like all fisho,s who use the busso jetty to fill out a catch card that is available from the fisheries office in Busselton or the building at the start of the jetty.

These can be filled out and dropped in the letterbox at the same building or Busso fisheries office stating what you caught, ect,ect.

The aim is to see how the population of fish are at the jetty.

Had a great day on tuesday. Headed out from Mindarie at 6am to Direction Bank. Conditions were as good as I have seen in Perth. First drop was a double header of Dhuie and black arse. The misus was on straight away as well with a good size Baldie. Set the tone for the next 3 hours. Pretty much every drop was a Dhuie around 70cm or a nice Baldie. Poor old release weight was working overtime. Ended up catching and releasing 10 dhuies 5 Baldies, black arse, fox fish as well as 4 unstopables which were never sighted. Headed home by 11 both happy campers.Was mint to see the wife having a ball and to see her technique improving to the point were she now needs no help from me at all. In fact I think I got my ass handed to me overall. All in all a great day with all number of fish released well . Kept our quota of 2 dhuies and 2 baldies. One to remember

As far as i can gather the TLD is a very popular reel, strong, lightweight and built to last.

Has anyone had any problems with it or know a bit about it?

 I took a walk along the ammo jetty on saturday night, there was quite easily well over 100 people fishing there. What i found concerning was there were a few asians fishing there with a cast net which i am certain is not legal. even more concerning was the size of there crate they intended to fill and were doing a good job of it working like little machines. the minute i mentioned the fisheries i got a look of disgust from them, there crate was an industrial sized container i would of loved to kick it over into the sea, but i didnt fancy i stab wound. so my bitch today is what waste of time our license fees are if they cannot be bothered patrolling  areas these scum buckets fish? Ps i have many asian friends who do the right thing, id love for fisheries to not only fine them but confiscate there cars.

 Looks like you guys might be in for some bad weather in around a fortnight. Hope it all goes well. I guess we'll cop it soon after. Gotta love this new MJO report.

Hi guys, we just go back from Rotto but forgot to get something from the general store. My Girlfreind really wanted one of the metal Rottnest water bottles. They were around $12.99. I have since rang the general store and they wont sell or post anything. I was hoping someone here was heading over i and i will pay for it and offer a 6 pack for your troubles.

 hey guys.. not after exact locations!  but would anybody be Able to help with some tips 

on how to fish from there? I've been a few times and haven't managed anything worth 

while.. usually I just have some gang hooks and whole or 3/4 mulies with a number 1

sinker above it.. I'm kinda chasing something a little larger than the bait fish running 

around at your toes.
