Pinkies?
Submitted by vinniefisho on Sat, 2015-09-26 16:43hey everyone,
So what is the story with these Pinkies, we are thinking of going out on tuesday for some, are there any set spots or do you have to look around for them? What area in Cockburn sound are they around? Is it better to fish during the morning or at night for them? And are there any other general starting tips to fish for them?
Cheers in advance

Jigging Master Evolution Titanium 50B
Submitted by sealure on Sat, 2015-09-26 14:37I have a Jigging Master Evolution Titanium 50B rod bought here in Perth a little over one year ago. It's seen very little use .
The foregrip, the reel seat and the posterior grip adjacent to reel seat glue have all suddenly given way such that they all rotate.
Unfortunately I cannot find the dam receipt and therefore can't do a thing about it.
I must say I'm really disappointed at the build quality. I've built many rods in my younger days and none of mine ever gave way. I'd never buy another Jigging Master.
If I was younger I'd strip it down and redo the whole thing.
I'm not,and therefore anyone who wants it can have it for free. The guides are in 10/10 condition as is the reel seat and rod itself.
It would need to be picked up. I live in Doubleview Perth.
PM me if you want it.

Tighten Manual Trim Release
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Fri, 2015-09-25 12:20I don't have a torque screwdriver/wrench and pretty sure I've overtightened the manual release on my outboard. Is there a rule for how to tighten eg tighten and back off 1/8th etc or do I need to fork out for a tool that measures the torque?

Man on kayak "terrorised" by "relentless" hammerhead - ???
Submitted by beeroclock on Thu, 2015-09-24 16:11If you saw the footage of this on the news yesterday you'll know why I put the ??? in the subject line after the caption. The footage shows a hammerhead shark - which im guessing from the footage is about 2 metres long - swimming around this guys kayak its probably just come in to have a bit of a look at the kayaker. Everytime it comes close enough he tries to hit it over the head with his paddle and the splashing of the paddle just excites it. Maybe im wrong but i dont think that shark is the slightest bit interested in eating him i think its just excited about some comotion on the surface and thinks there may be a fish or two around busting up on the surface. Did anybody think that guy was being "terrorised" by a "relentless" shark as the news put it ?

Now just couple days to wait till holidays to take it out and put a few hours on it.

Advice
Submitted by donlovesfishing on Tue, 2015-09-22 19:20Hi all,
been a while since I was on here. Hope everyone has been getting out there. I however haven't been. I recently moved from Yallingup to Margaret river and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction on where to launch my little 18ft pacemaker and possibly where to head out to catch a feed with my young boys, or land based.. hope to meet new friends and possibly head out with someone who needs a Decky. Will share fuel etc. Met some great guys on here, Liam, Doaky, Dave etc and everyone has been very helpful. Thanks in advance Don

Have to Vent
Submitted by A-SALT-WEAPON on Tue, 2015-09-22 09:59Being doing the hard yards, been out night fishing 5 times in my 3.2m car topper in the sound, 3 times with devo (fw member). Night on the 5fathom bank, last thursday night north end of garden island amongst 30 other boats with another mate. NO SNAPPER. Everything else KG, duies, whiting , herring, black butts, tuna.
Im frustrated as im seeing these photos up here of all these snapper and i cant get 1 ha ha.
Well last night went out i was the only 1 there , i thought this is it, my time to shine.
Burley out, baits out, working soft plastic waited couple of hours. Bang rod took off, line screaming this it, the 1 ive been waiting for , grabbed the rod , Big head shakes snapper for shore , fish ran out wide of boat 50 pound braid 80 pound leader got him covered was a big fish struggling to get him up of the bottom , he turned, went straight for the wreck pop goes the braid ARRR. I was screaming like Robson Green, choice words coming out of my mouth suprised Rockingham couldnt here me.
All over , packed up me tackle box, rod under me arm and sobbed all the way home lol.
Well..... try again tonight i suppose ha ha Ill get 1.
(Had to vent to someone misses sick of here me)

Walpole Family Fishing Fun Day - This Saturday 26th September
Submitted by Daniel Y on Mon, 2015-09-21 22:06If anyone's heading down to Walpole with the family this weekend for the school holidays, come down to Rest Point on Saturday morning and join in the family fishing day that Murdoch University and the Department of Fisheries are putting on.
There will be a free children's fishing clinic to teach kids the basics of how to catch estuarine fish such as Black Bream, Flathead, Whiting etc, and to promote sutainable fishing practices, correct fish handling and caring for the marine environment.
While the kids are fishing, adults can find out about current fish research that Murdoch and the Department of Fisheries are currently undertaking in the Walpole-Nornalup Marine Park, which includes about acoustic tracking of Black Bream, Flathead, Tarwhine and Pink Snapper.
Hope to see some of you there!

Talica 8/10 2 speed vs Saltiga LD20/30 2 speed
Submitted by rocklobster on Mon, 2015-09-21 17:42Hey everyone,
What are your thoughts and experiences with the aforementioned overheads? I don't get out often enough to warrant several outfits so i'm setting up an allrounder overhead combo for driftbaiting, bottom bashing and trolling and have my eyes on these 2. I've read good things about the Talicas but not much about the Saltigas. I've picked up a FWA pe 3-5 300gm rod for a steal so rather than get a tld or saltist etc i've got a bit extra cash for something better. All opinions and thoughts much appreciated!
Cheers, Paul
