go figure.
Submitted by Dale on Thu, 2015-02-05 18:02Is the U.S., Australia and the rest of the coalition doing something wrong?
Jordan, they lose a pilot sadly, so they want revenge, they grab a couple of bad prisoners and hangem at dawn, not happy with that, they go and a find more in Iraq, bomb the crap out of them, kill 55 odd including one of the bosses and go home happy.
US and Australia and the rest never have a day like that. Maybe when the coalition are finding it hard and not getting any reward, just go and upset the Jordanians.

Fishwrecked AFL Dreamteam League.
Submitted by Dale on Sun, 2015-02-01 12:26I know it's early but AFL pre season is just around the corner, and it's time to study the teams, so I've just set up the 2015 Fishwrecked Dream Team League. Room for 18 players and the code to join is 5DLRH23S. I've managed to put a team together already, albeit there will be some changes as the pre season happens and we get to look at some different players. If you want to have some dollars up front and winner takes all, then someone else can arrange that.

Boat BBQ's
Submitted by Bigfellaal on Sat, 2015-01-31 13:45Have a Mini Webber Q on the boat and normally cooking on the floor or on top of the big esky but I'm over it. Looking at picking up a Gasmate 1100 and just wondering if anyone could post up some pics of good mounting ideas? My fuel vent being in the rear starboard corner I don't want it mounted on the bait board as it will be too close so currently plan to put it up front near the cab on the port side. 2 solid rod holders that I can mount a cray pot tipper into then just slip out and drop in the BBQ set up (similar to a bait board) with HDPE inserts so it is tight in the rod holders and doesn't rattle plus a clip to lock down so it can't jump out.
Anyone done anything similar who can share some ideas or success pictures ?
Also looking for someone to do the ally work in Waikiki.
Anyone had one of these BBQ's and reckon they can survive getting sloshed about in the swell on a 7m ally boat (I'm not a sunshine fisherman)

Number plates nicked
Submitted by Dale on Tue, 2015-01-27 15:44I had some MF steal the plates off my car, unsure when as I'm pretty sure they would have been on there when I left Perth Airport J Long term car park yesterday because the number plate recognition system would have picked up on the anomaly, so that probably means it happened last night. But anyway, they actually left another plate on the rear of my car, which the police said was off a black Ford ute where mine is Ego in colour which is dark grey, so that's apparently what they do. Police took it away to check it for prints so hopefully that shows up something on the low life MF and he gets his.

Marron 2015
Submitted by battsy on Tue, 2015-01-27 14:322015 marron season is coming to a close, and I'm planning my last final crack for the season. So far only got a couple that were size from the Murray, truck loads of small ones way under, so keen to actually get a feed!! Question is - should I bother with Harvey dam? Is it worth the trip this late into the season? It seems as though everyone reckons its a pretty sure thing there for getting a bag of good sized ones, but I'm worried it might be packed out with Everyman and his dog there, fished out, or spooked out from getting hammered. Some advice on whether it's worth the extra distance etc would be appreciated. I have been to waroona dam last year once just to throw a line in, but it seems like you might have to drive around a fair bit to the back of it, from the side where people put in their jet skis? If so, do u need a 4x4? And is it worth it there?
thanks in advance for any discussion.

Hunters?
Submitted by darren monks on Sat, 2015-01-24 15:51Being fishers I can assume hunting's a pretty popular pastime with some members, and there's been a couple recent threads about shooting?
I've done a bit of bowhunting for pigs and goats with recurve, but I mainly rifle hunt on foot, chasing deer and pigs. I also a bit of trapping (foxes, cats and soon - wild dogs). do a bit of spotlighting, but prefer walking.
recent annual trip to northern wheatbelt over New Year we got 5 pigs, pretty average.
2014 got red deer stag, fallow deer and lot's of cats and foxes and couple pigs
who else is a hunter, and for what, with what?

Crayfish catch
Submitted by OLD BANGA on Sat, 2015-01-24 08:50If there are three people with licences on board and there are subsequently 6 craypots in the water and on pulling the first craypot there are 24 crayfish in the one pot, are you legally permitted to take the 24 crayfish out of that craypot or just 8, that craypot is subject to one licence which is indicated on the float. If the other two people on board, in theory take 8 of those crayfish each are they not taking crayfish from another persons craypot, i.e. interfering with someone elses craypot?
I know all anyone should say if queried by Fisheries is that the 24 crayfish were caught out of the 6 craypots, but interesting scenario, what are your thoughts?
I am aware that this has happened, especially this season, unfortunately not here in Kalbarri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great long Australia Day weekend.
Cheers
Old Banga!

Brick laying prices
Submitted by bradz on Thu, 2015-01-22 13:47Hi everyone
I have a smallish brick laying job and want to get an idea of what a reasonable cost is.
My verandah has 7 steel support posts that I would like to build brick pillars around up to 11 courses high. I also want to build walls between 4 of the posts also at 11 course height. Essentially about 700 bricks to lay. What do you think this would cost for labour only?
I am using the Caversham hand made bricks from Midland brick, so they are a fairly irregular shape.
Also, is there anybody in the Stirling area that could do this sort of thing in the next few months?
Cheers
Brad

Rare shark caught
Submitted by carnarvonite on Wed, 2015-01-21 08:09Caught off Lakes Entrance in Victoria. A 2 metre long frilled shark, very rare and belonging to a specie that dates back millions of years.
Over 300 teeth in 26 rows so there is no way I'd be putting my hands close to remove a hook that's for sure
