2000 ford courier feedback?
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Wed, 2013-10-30 18:54Hi Fellas,
A couple of months back I was looking to get a light truck but the deal just didn't work out and it was all too hard. Instead I'm looking at getting a 4 door 4wd ute for under $10k and came accross this one below, just wondering if anyone has had much to do with them and can give me some feedback before I enter into a purchase.
Any other suggestions for vehicles are welcome, need to buy this week-end in Perth.
2000 Ford Courier 2.5l manual 4x4 ute,
Excellent condition,
Just had new gear box 12 months ago.
Comes with roof rack and near new tonneau cover.
Fantastic work ute.

Chasing a length of 75x50x3mm galvanised tubing
Submitted by D2ky on Wed, 2013-10-30 01:45Hi lads,
I am hunting for a length of the (75x50x3mm) galvanised tubing around 1.5 to 2 metre.
If anyone do have a off cut length of it, plz pm me. Willing to pay for it.
Or does anyone know where can I get a shorter length. Doesn't want to spend too much to get a 8m length where I don't need that much.
Thanks
Ken

Electric/Hydraulic Trailer Brakes....................HELP !
Submitted by The Saint on Tue, 2013-10-29 21:56Hi All,
Hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction wrt trailer brake problems. I'm running a Breaksafe Series 5000 and Hydrastar HBA-12. Tow vehicle has a Tekonsha Voyager fitted. All has been fine since system was first fitted around 5/6 years ago.
Several weeks ago I seemed to develop an intermitant problem. After hooking up the trailer, depressing the brake pedal would cause the light on the Tekonsha to flash red to green continously and the trailer brakes were not operating. They would then start to operate after a few minutes. As of last Sunday they no longer work at all, Tekonsha light no longer flashes red/green, just stays green when brake pedal is depressed.. Pressing the test button on the Breaksafe operates the trailer brakes.
I have checked all wiring and it appears to be all good, checked connections in both plugs and found nothing out of place. I expect the problem to be either the Tekonsha or the Breaksafe. Any suggestions, or can anyone tell me how I might be able to pinpoint what is at fault ? Thanks in advance for any advice.
The Saint

Simrad NSE8 install.
Submitted by sarcasm0 on Mon, 2013-10-28 06:38Just thought I would chuck up a couple of pics of the new electronics package in the bathtub. Simrad NSE 8 running BSM 1 with a transom mount 600w and Structurescan LSS2. One of the guys I know cut the pieces for the box on top of the console from Starboard for me, and I just put it together with alum angle, s/s hinges, hatch seal tape and some canopy stretchy loops to hold the lid down. The lid hinges back so you can remove the electronics and cabling without difficulty. I have another piece of starboard cut that will be fitted with s/s 'pullapart' hinges which will have a latch for locking so if we are out camping then we can lock the electronics within the box and at least keep the honest crooks out.
We also rewired everything through an isolation switch and distributed power from a positive and negative bus bar. I have not quite finished as I need to sort out switches for a couple of devices like lights, bilge pump.
Its been a work in progress over the last few months but we finally took it out for a test run yesterday for a few hours on the swan. No fish caught but a very nice day on the water playing with the new toy/s. I will need to brace the starboard box with some supports off the front and sides of the centre console pedastal as the box did move a bit.
Pic 1 - Simrad NSE8, 4 way screen split Sonar, Chart, Downscan, Structure Scan.
Pic 2 - Simrad NSE8, Console/Box pic
Pic 3 - Simrad NSE8, Fullscreen Structurescan going under Canning Bridge.
Pic 4 - Hydrofoiling Moth on the move - Melville Water sorry for the pic quality, he was going quick and I was trying to zoom
Let me know if you would like to see more pics of the transducer mountings, wiring or more of the starboard box.

Submitted by Moking on Thu, 2013-10-24 14:52I was fixing the sprinklers today, cleaning them out and replacing a few.
The bore was working ok all morning while I was re-checking the sprinklers,(turning bore on/off manually)then the last time to make sure everything was ok,the bore won't turn on,and keeps blowing the fuse.
Replaced the fuse wire, and same thing- blows the fuse straight away.
So looks like I need to get an Electrican to come and have a look.

New Element Found
Submitted by Dale on Wed, 2013-10-23 13:26The Discovery Of The Heaviest Element . . .
Scientists at CERN in Geneva have announced the discovery of the heaviest
element yet known to science..
The new element is Governmentium (Gv).
It has one neutron,
25 assistant neutrons,
88 deputy neutrons and
198 assistant deputy neutrons,
giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons,
which are surrounded by vast quantities of lefton-like particles called peons.
Since Governmentium has no electrons or protons, it is inert.
However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction normally taking less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years.
It does not decay but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.
This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons. All of the money is consumed in the exchange, and no other by-products are produced.

Mismatching tyres on 4x4 - yay or nay?
Submitted by lunker on Wed, 2013-10-23 11:40Hey guys, I'm after the opinions of non-tyrestore workers. I have one front tyre on the Bravo chewed out on the inside, but I'm not really in a position to buy a new set of tyres. The remaining three are still pretty good.
I don't really like the idea of running a mismatched tyre (even of the same size) on the front. So, do you reckon I swap the backs to the front and replace the single tyre, or buy two new ones to keep axles the same?
Or, perhaps someone has four they want to sell for a good price ;-)
Cheers!

Also Moomba a great machine that 225 Mercury is. Cruises very happily at 30 knots. Have changed her down to a 15P four blade and this has increased its performance quite noticeably. Here are a few before and after pics.

I was mates with Before he died and I would have liked a reunion with him , but it's too late now I guess. I knew him from when I was 18 in 1977 when we first met, but unfortunately hadn't seen him since much after that. He was a funny character and I'd like to just say R.I.P
